ANd if she's not dancing, I can see her sitting at the piano beating on it to the rythmic tribal beat, singing along acapella. I must say, those choirgirls really have brought out a new side to Tori and I must say! I LIKE IT. Well, here we go again! On my commute home from work this evening, I heard that the station had just played sample of each of the 4 songs on the 4-track promo and had everyone vote for which one they wanted to hear in its entirety. They played 'Playboy Mommy' After the song, the dj said to be sure to listen at 5:00 on Friday since *Tori herself* (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) will be making the announcement about the concert! So much for Bob Waugh's teasing of me! I'm starting to believe *no one* knows what they are going to do, Tori's management included. I finally had the time to head over to the site that has the Real Audio's of the 4 promo songs and two short clips of iieee and Cruel, this page: http://members.aol.com/pugnance/hotel.html I just wanna let everyone know that I am so excited about this new muse sparking Tori's creativity. I love and will always love Tori and the Piano, but her new schtuff with a kickin' band really rocks. I don't consider it techno or even top 40 *shudder* but Its got a definate beat that makes me wanna groove. (I'm refering to Raspberry Swirl, and the small portion of iieee I heard.) This is to all those Toriphiles blessed with the gift of Tickets to a CLub Tour!!!! **SO LISTEN UP** I know Tori is planning to play some of her classics, but her main intent is to get the crowds reaction to upcoming stuff! Well, from what I've heard through sound clips... YOU CAN REALLY GROOVE TO IT! I know most EwF are accustomed to listening to her music which is great and the point, but there is a new muse wanting to shoot out of a cannon and be heard. Basically, what I am saying is listen and EXPERIENCE... "Feel the word... Feel the word" hehe hee... GET UP AND DANCE. You are at a club, most of them are STAND Up clubs, don't disappoint our Tori. I'm sure she wants everyone to enjoy themselves and remember: "She wants to bite peoples BUTTS!" NOw, what happens if something bites your butt? You dance around! =D Hee hee, my philosiphy. Maybe it's just me, and I'm entitled to my own opinion so NO FLAMES PLEASE! But, I can feel the energy Tori and her muses have put into this new album. Now I know you Toriphiles can rock the house and share the energy with Tori. For me, and all those other devoted fans unable to make it to her Club Tour, PASS THE ENERGY FOR US! We are counting on you to reassure Tori that we are backing her 110%. These are just my pennies, and I am so excited about this new album I am ready to explode! HAVE FUN WITH THIS NEW MUSE, she wants to come out and play... don't disapoint her! SO excited and pumped up that I can't go to sleep, "I WANNA DANCE" Laura =D ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 08 Apr 1998 23:23:23 -0500 From: lilchibi@flash.net Subject: Tori Mush Pot of Ideas Ok, I thought I would try to save mailbox space for all you nice peeps. So here are some of my thoughts, questions, ideas.. First, I would like to thank everyone for their suggestions for Tori Singles. I actually ordered the CFG single from CD now along with Live in NY, but I was so overwhelmed with "GET WINTER! IT's the best out of all of em." See, I ordered CFG mainly becuz I haven't been able to find it anywhere, but I knew Winter and other singles were at my local Best Buy. ANyhoo, I splurged and bought it and am rocking the night away. Just a note: I hadn't ever heard these B-sides and I love them! The Pool reminded me of Tori's work for GExpectations. A mix of FInn and Siren (that angelic, spiritual voice with haunting backgroung echos.) Maybe it's just me, and yep! I knoe Siren came after, but this is a FIRST FOR ME! =D SO I compared em! And I JUST LOVE TAKE TO THE SKY AND SWEET DREAMS! I love when tori does peppy songs! It makes me oh so happy. And Upside Down!!! What can I say? MAGNIFIC (with a cheezy french accent!) Ok, thanks to all that responded. Once I get rich or win the lottery, I'll get the singles! SECOND: I just read about this Tori Chat! Ok, as a recently recruited Toriphile, I was scared and apprehensive about this fantastic news. When I first became infatuated(sp?) I serched the net far and wide and still have not seen the edges of ToriEarth, but that's besides the point. I read one trascribed online interview (the one where someone askes about Tori and a "little one"... it's an old one) Anyhoo, I just thought everyone had great questions. Well, I have this fear, I've read about peoples encounters and meetings with Tori... but I know already that I am speechless and in awe. But I so would like to Talk to Tori with a passion, but I admire her so much that I just can't. I dream of the day when I go to my first TOri concert and wait 4 hrs be4 the show to meet her and I actually see myself freezing and just staring. Well, anyhoo.. I was just curious to what people were planning to ask? ANd just exactly how do "connect" or "take part" in this event. Even if I can't ask her a ?, I just wanna be there knowing that Tori is out there somewhere sitting with her legs tucked up in a `puter chair, brushing her hair out of her face, and typing her heart out. THIRD: WHile I was picking up my WInter CD at Best Buy, they had the Upcoming releases and I was thrilled to see Tori's Name up there with "from the choirgirl hotel!" Oh yeah, does anyone know how much longer I have to pre-order SPark from IGG? I am waiting for my credit card to be credited because there isn't enough credit to charge anything right now, but I desperately want this! SO if you kno, gizz me a email buzz.! Ok, sorry for the length, but my hands had a lot to say. Please read. Ok, I was browsing thru a couple of magazines at the airport yesterday, and I caught a glimpse of a Tori pic. Not knowing what exactly the article was about (well, I did skim the title) I bought the magazine. I wonder why no one has mentioned this yet, but I guess this isn't exactly a music magazine so I understand. Anyhow, I"m talking about the April edition of the German women's magazine "Joy". They had an extensive article on the topic of rape, and ways to help rape victims. On the second page, there is a paragraph in the corner, with Tori's pic. Apparantly this is a letter Tori sent the magazine. I did my best to translate it, so I hope it's ok: - ------------------ In the last couple of years I played "Me and a Gun" at every concert; to heal that spot within me that was hurt, angered and deafened by violence. For years I kept that place inside me closed up, even though it needed to yell, cry or express itself. With "Me and a Gun" I made a concious decision: I no longer wanted to be the victim. You see, I was still a victim, imprisoned in my own head by one experience I had had a long time ago. And I tortured myself with it. Passion, joy or love were things I could neither feel, nor did I think I deserved them. But smart people encouraged and taught me to deal with it. It took me years to deal with my past. I was so bitter, because I used to be a passionate young woman. "She's just dead", I'd say about the younger me, but my friends said: "If you want to bring her back to life, you can do that too. She's just sleeping - alone, in a very dark corner. Healing requires a lot of courage. But we all have courage, even if we have to dig a little." Wishing you love and support Tori Amos - ----------------- After the letter, the reporter mentions how Tori became a victim herself, how she deals with it through her songs, and gives info on RAINN. The rest of the article is very good and definitely worth reading. It's not overemotional, but it's still based on real-life stories. I recommend anyone in Euro-land (granted you speak German of course) to pick up this magazine. sabrina ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 09 Apr 1998 16:44:55 -0500 From: coquette Subject: Re: Tori On ER At 03:03 PM 4/9/98 -0400, Beth Coulter wrote: > >As reported a great while back on the Dent, Tori will be used as background >music on ER tonight, Thursday April 16 (NBC @ 10PM). tonight is april ninth, however. or else my clock is a whole week off.. - -a i'm no fucking buddhist, but this is enlightenment. http://www.overlap.org ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 09 Apr 1998 17:53:44 -0400 From: Nadyne Mielke Subject: Re: Availibility of the "Spark" single Chelsea asked: > >Does anyone know alternate routes to getting the limited-edition "Spark" >single on these shores, particularly in the Boston area? OK Greg, Maybe you can answer this. The DJ's all over Philadelphia have delighted in "finding out the secret", and are encouraging everyone in Philly to bring their sleeping bags and tents to EF Friday night for a huge parking lot party--hosted by no one. This is not a fan based concert in Philly. 3000 standing room is "a small and intimate" venue??? And not one radio station, but 5 or 6 are announcing these plans. I am about to forego even trying (considering my car is dead and my friends punked out due to the "circus atmosphere"). My downstairs neighbor doesn't even like Tori, but she and her girlfriends and boyfriends are hanging out to get these tickets, starting 4PM Friday. Most of the kids going to stand in line at this point are exactly the people I wanted to avoid by this *club tour*. They are there cause "It's a Concert!!!" They don't care that it is Tori, or that Spark is really a powerful song. Hey, I'm happy Tori is going big, but I don't think this Philly situation is what Tori invisioned. Needless to say, I am becoming despondant over the dwindling chance to see Tori. Hell, I'll just go to the EF on the 26th, give someone my book to give to her and lick my wounds with all the others who didn't get to go.
