Did I miss >something or did IGG flake on a mailing? If anyone has the track listing to >the other UK CD single for Spark could they please post? OK, OK, OK, let's try and clear this one up. There is tremendous confusion everywhere over these singles. From what I can tell these are the rumours... 1)The CD has been put *BACK* quite a while, and is not expected to ship for at least three weeks within the UK. 2)The limited CD has been cancelled. This is apparently all to do with point 1 3)However, they may have made the CD described above the standard release. 4)Rumour that the Single and Album are to be released on the same day. 5)Alternatively there could be two CD singles, priced at approx. £3.50 - 95 within the UK (or with real luck £1.99-£2.50 ea.) which will be released on the 20th of Aprill, *before* From The Choirgirl Hotel. To be honest, no-one's quite sure what's going on, (I should just ring e/w shouldn't I?!) and no record shop has *any* info on a release date for a Tori single yet. That would indicate to *me* that the single has definitely been postponed in some way and probably won't be out until the last week in April or first week in May whichever way the mop flops. I spoke with Bob Waugh, of "Tea with a Waitress" fame. When I was about to hang up, I said, "Well, I guess I'll be seeing you in the parking lot Friday night!" He teased me, saying, "Ah, you think you've got it all figured out, don't you." He went on to say that we should not pay attention to what the Atlantic site says, because they had trouble in CA, (no shit!) ( I added NY), they are totally revamping everything to make sure the right people get tickets. He also said that the announcement scheduled for Friday at 5:00 may come sooner, so stay tuned. Bob Waugh asked that I post this to our lists, so we'd know what was going on, and I said that it would also stop people from bugging him to death with the same questions! Assuming that all the dates work the same, the person who buys the ticket does not have to specify who their guest will be. On the date of the show, the voucher holder and their guest go to the show together {you -must- be together to get in!}. The voucher-holder jumps though whatever hoops are necessary {here in Atlanta, you have to show the same picture ID you got the tickets on and sign the voucher a second time {to match signatures}}, and then the voucher-holder and their guest gets to go into the venue. Here's the deal: If you pre-order "From the Choirgirl Hotel" from Tower Records, you will get a password. This password is used to download a song called "Merman". You don't get a CD, you just get to hear this song on your computer. You need up-to-the-minute hardware and software to run this, and you must be using a Win95/NT machine {the software isn't available for Mac}. - -*- Quoted from the Atlantic Records homepage {www.atlantic-records.com}: Coinciding with Atlantic's re-launch of tori.com, the website will feature footage of her Letterman performance of "spark." Beginning April 10th, the refreshed website will also be the launching pad for a remarkable online promotion, conducted in cooperation with Tower Records and AT&T's "a2b music," which will offer an exclusive, downloadable bonus Tori track for anyone who pre-orders their copy of from the choirgirl hotel through Tower Records. The song, "Merman," is a brand-new recording that will not appear on the new album. Fans can pre-order the album at Tower Records retail outlets, through the Tower Records toll-free hotline (1-800-648-4844), or online via both the Tower website (www.towerrecords.com) and America Online (Keyword: Tower). At that time, customers will be provided with a unique code, enabling them to download the full-length, CD-quality "Merman" track. Those who place their orders at Tower outlets will be given a special Tori collectable postcard at the register, which will include their access code and complete downloading instructions. The "Merman" download will be offered utilizing state-of-the-art technology from AT&T's proprietary "a2b music," designed to safeguard against piracy. Assuming that any of the rumors we've heard thus far are true, Merman will -not- be a b-side on the Spark single(s), but there has been no indication whether or not it will be released in a more accessible format at some point in the future.
