A Blue Ribbon is the symbol that says that You are working towards a world where child abuse no longer exists. If you know of someone being abused, tell someone. If you are being abused, Tell someone. If you are an abuser, Tell Someone. RAINN can help with all these situations. They can help you help someone, they can help you help yourself and they can direct you to a place for help if you are an abuser. Suggestions of things to do: Wear a Blue Ribbon and hand out cards with the RAINN number-1-800-656-HOPE. Volunteer at a womens shelter for a day. Speak to grade school kids about abuse and how to get help. Donate time or money to RAINN. This month, don't just think about how awful child abuse is. Do something about it. One person can make a difference. However, the website seems to have disappeared. I know that in the past when they revamped their website people got a 'not found' message, but it was never for longer than a day. I have been trying to connect to their website for about a week now. Does anybody know what happened to them? But of course then they'd have to fight over who > got to keep it. At eBay you enter the maximum amount for an item, but only have to pay just above the next highest bidder. I put in a very large max bid. I'm fairly certain I will get this. I keep checking the site and getting daily status reports from eBay. And I'm willing to go even higher, if I have to. I will make cassette copies or CD-R copies for anyone interested. We can work out a deal. On cd, I think I'll have to charge some minimal amount, since I don't have the hardware to burn a cd and would have to use my father's. (He's a software developer, like me) I know it'll be difficult to get over to my parents' house, and find a time when he is *not* working. He likes to come home from work and work another few hours before he goes to bed. And he works all day on the weekend. If someone were to make a copy for me, I'd definately go with the CD-R because I only have a cd player in my truck, and no cassette player, not to mention the fact that the sound quality will be much better. The auction ends Saturday around 11:00 pm EST. So I'll let everyone know if I got it. Then if anyone wants to work out a trade, or deal can contact me.
