You just opened up a -big- bucket of worms! The book you're looking for is called _Tori Amos Collectibles_ by Paul Campbell. Cover price is $29.95. US ISBN is 0.8256.1578.X. The book is 216 pages and has color photos of all the things listed in it. Be aware that it's missing some items {mostly miscellaneous albums where Tori had one track on 'em and such, and its coverage of posters is absolutely abysmal}, and that it's already slightly out of date -- it's missing the re-release of SATY, the Sunglasses Hut promo disc, etc. And it'll become even more out of date when the new single hits the market {expected sometime in April, last I heard}. My personal copy is full of sticky notes with price information and such. I have over 50 Tori CDs {excluding boots}, and still have quite a ways to go! /nad *************************************************************************** * Nadyne Mielke, CS majour, Southern Tech, Marietta, GA * * * * "I regret to say that we of the FBI are powerless to act in cases of * * oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate * * commerce. Okay Maybe I'm just a bit defensive, but that was my Little Rock Concert quote That Richard H. used. Of course we're not always going to hear exactly right and after reading the other quote a while back I was thinking "Did she say 24?" Considering she was coming in from Virginia I really didn't think she would have been in Little Rock for 24 hours. Besides 6 caps in 24 hours that is nothing but 6 in 4 that's something to brag about. :) Is it possible that they were made with non-dairy milk? Also it seems in an article I read where she was talking with other touring artists (PJ Harvey was one)...they were discussing the fact that when you start a tour you lay down all these rules and you're only going to eat good food etc. but by the end you pretty much don't care...but hey don't quote me on that. Random thought: I always thought "Happy Birthday her blood's on my hands..." was talking about murder...but when I went back and read my review again I had mentioned that Tori grabbed her crotch when she sang that part which made me think of something else (I'll spare the guys) if that's it well then I have a whole new way to look at that song. I've heard this same interview. Maybe Tori goes through little spells where she's extremely health-conscious, and then she'll give in to her temptations every now and then. For example, when she came to Knoxville for UtP, our paper printed the day before that she loved Krispy Kreme doughnuts. So there were like tons of boxes for her backstage when she showed up for the concert. She thanked us profusely. She said she missed that (the doughnuts) about the South. I even think that's what the line means "Do you know Carolina? Where the biscuits are soft and sweet..." in MaaG. Anyway, we all know how she loves to eat, especially Italian and Mexican. Doesn't sound like she's a health fanatic to me! Yum.... Enjoying food. I know *I* can't always hear her clearly from the stage. It depends on where one sits in the venue, how clearly she's speaking, the acoustics of the hall, etc. I think it's more than perfectly understandable that folks can't hear exactly what she says from the stage all the time and with crystal clarity. You and the other person whose quotes I excerpted got the gist of what she seemed to be saying, though. But I *have* had the experience of hearing concert tapes and comparing quotes from Michael Whitehead's web site, and the person reported hearing exactly *opposite* of what she really said. There are those who would say that someone at a show who provided quotes should have known very well what she said from the stage--after all, they were there! But as you point out, it's not that simple. > Also it seems in an article I read where she was talking with other > touring artists (PJ Harvey was one)...they were discussing the fact that > when you start a tour you lay down all these rules and you're only going > to eat good food etc. but by the end you pretty much don't care...but > hey don't quote me on that. :-) Okay, I won't quote you, but it seems to make good sense to me to think that humans would act human. :-) Be seeing you, Richard Handal, H.G. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Feb 1998 11:08:42 -0800 (PST) From: Captain CasinoNight Subject: We both know... Well I think what Tori is getting at is about deprivation. I know for me if I am not 'allowed' to eat what I want when I want it, I end up eating more of it (the "bad" stuff) anyway in the long run. So if I get certain food out of my system, food no longer is a psychological crutch. The more emotion that is brought into eating, the more problems I've personally had with fat control. Exercise is the key... we just have to make time for it and do what makes us happy. Anyone up for a doughnut hole? :) Scotty - -- _________/{______________________________________________ O)]/////////[ O >--- SQUARE USA: LA and Honolulu Studios ---`-----__ `"""""""""\{======================================================` Video Game & RPG Designer ** scotty@sqla.com ** sord@worldnet.att.net ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V3 #65 ************************************
