Tori is wonderful, a huge influence on my life. =20 Hugs to all ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 08 Dec 1997 23:16:15 -0500 From: squeaky watson Subject: admin: html mail toriadores, just a small niggling comment from one of the list-guys. those of you who use html-enbabled mailers (such as microsoft's outlook or netscape 4, among others), please make sure that you turn this feature *off* before posting to precious-things. smoe's majordomo has been configured to reject *all* posts which contain any html-ish content. this is because e-mail is still primarily a plain-text medium. while the number of html-enabled mailers is growing, a large chunk of the net is still ascii-only. i mention this only because there have been a rash of html-ish posts in the past couple days. rejected posts end up in mike's and my mailboxes. i've dilligently bounced them onto the list (sans html, so no one would otherwise be the wiser!), but i won't always have the time or the desire to do this. check out for instructions on how to turn html mail off for netscape 4. there is also instructions there about turning off rich text format (another no-no) with microsoft exchange. i don't know anything about outlook or outlook express yet, so if anyone knows, please drop me a note off-list. thanks! woj ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V2 #348 *************************************
