I think when she says "elevator music" she means something like a paltry distraction from what's really going on. "if the air is filled enough with a lot of poor sounds, she'll never notice they're going down"...or something like that. I have a question on another lyric. when she says "I hate disintegration"...I assume she means the breakup since the next line is "watching us wither". It did occur to me that this could be a reference to the Cure's album "Disintegration", which features "Lovesong", which Tori covers. But yeah, in my opinion, elevator music is a metaphor. Remember that it's a song and if you think elevator music just means "dancing salmon", go right ahead. And so, this is in the *October* issue of Q magazine, then? That would be the "current" issue in these parts, but over in the U.K. the November issue may have already hit the stands. On what page of the magazine is this mentioned, please? Q's a mighty thick magazine to be thumbing through looking for anything. Thanks. Sounds great. Wonder if it's really the entire concert. There'd been a rumor of this, but you'd given us the official sighting, as far as I am aware. Thanks a ton! I need this way bad. There had also been rumors of some kind of a long form video release with documentary footage from backstage on the DDI tour. I wonder if they incorporated any of that stuff into this video. This is exciting. :-) BTW, I just searched www.amazon.com for this video and it wasn't listed there. But for anyone living in an isolated area wanting books or CDs-- including lots of singles--you can find 31 Tori Amos items listed there. I don't think "elevator music" and classical music are the same thing. Elevator music, imho, is more like synthesized tunes..stuff my grandmother listens to...classical music is more like *real* music. That's my thought..woohoo! I suppose it won't reach the US and other parts until later, unless you're a subscriber. The review is in the "TV and Video" section at the back, around page 159 I believe. I've just checked Mikewhy's site and the review has been put on there. And yes, it appears to be more or less the whole concert.. 90 mins, including Tori's Cornflake Girl dance. As it's a Sunday and I'm moving back to university tomorrow I won't have a chance to search around the video shops until mid next week. There's no release date though so it might not even be out yet. How come we didn't know of this sooner? I'd have thought someone would have found out before it got reviewed in a magazine. The other one I can think of Is Anastasia Romanov, the youngest daughter of the last Czar of Russia. There is a legend that she was the sole survivor whent he entire family was executed. I don't know whether the song has anything to do with her (I personally think it might!), but there you have it. Does anyone else know anything about Anastasia? > 3: And who is Angie Dickinson?=20 OKay, this one I know. Angie Dickinson is an actress. She used to be on an American TV show called "Police Woman", and she also made films, although I can't recall any titles right now (give me a break, I just got up!). I always took "my best impression of my best Angie Dickinson" to mean that she was putting on a strong, aloof front. I dunno, that's just me... I have full details about this video at my Dent in the Tori Amos Web Site, and at least on place in the UK online where you can preorder it, though I have never done business with them before...it is a place called Stargate. However, the big question at this point is if the video is going to be released in the U.S. The UK version looks like a October 13th release date. It is 90 minutes, which should be the ENTIRE NEW YORK CONCERT! If it is only released in the UK, there will be that PAL VS NTSC thing that will keep most of us in North Amercia from buying it. I don't know what elevators you're riding in, but almost every elevator I've been in (that had music, that is!) played Muzak (also popularly known as.... you guessed it!... "elevator music"). I always thought that's what she was talking about. I also always thought it was a sort of stream-of-consiousness phrase... like, you're angry, and maybe ina fight, and there's a silence, and you happen to be in an elevator playing Muzak and you just say it "I F***ing HATE elevator music!" And that sort of leads to info that is relevant to this argument/fight or anger you're having. That's how I took it, anyway! But I have been known to have crazy ideas about Tori's songs (just ask me! ;) )! WEll, that's it! Bright Blessings and Lollipops! Here it is for all of you's: "Armand Van Helden's 'Phunk Phenomena' turned the dance-music world on its ear, and his now-classic innuendo-heavy remix of Tori Amos' 'Professional Widow' defined the mix master's wreck-shit mentality.
