I used to say groovy a bit more than I do now. ;) One of my other posts has the explanation of how I got the name, but I'll write it again real quick-like. I have another Net friend who has a rather-weird name himself: Hideous Chicken Lord. Anyway, HCL gave me the nick after we discussed my love of dancing in clubs. I love to go clubbing, so now I'm the Goddess of the Groove. :) - -Karen i see your face = karenjw@one.net i see your smile = goddess of the and it moves me = groove / diva - trina hamlin = PTW / coffeeslut ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 20 Sep 1997 17:49:43 -0400 (EDT) From: "Karen, Goddess of the Groove" Subject: Re: Tori's Privacy... For me, this issue is about taking a high road, supressing the "need to know" obsession that we have, and giving her some space. - -Karen -------- karenjw@one.net ----------------------- "personally, i prefer to believe in little objects rather than in a big blurry thing. it's more original, if nothing else." -amanda filipacchi "nude men" ---- http://w3.one.net/~karenjw/welcome.html ---- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 20 Sep 1997 19:41:07 -0400 (EDT) From: "Karen, Goddess of the Groove" Subject: Re: Tori's House Sorry about the delay, etc. ;) On Wed, 17 Sep 1997, Lady Eorann wrote: > On Tue, 16 Sep 1997, Karen, Goddess of the Groove wrote: > [snip] > > > I do know that if you are interested in getting > > > the rights of one of her songs for a school project or something, he's the > > > one you end up dealing with, so if the message is about stuff like that it > > > is appropriate. > > > > I *really* doubt the accuracy of this statement. > > You shouldn't, most people I've talked to have had the same experience. > If they would like to use one of Tori's songs, they deal with her father. I was more or less referring to the people that work for his company. There *are* more than one person managing her career. I don't expect Spivak Entertainment to cater to everyone and listen to everyone's stories or to have a heart. But I do expect them to be reasonable when it comes to small requests like ours and to at least be polite when they correspond. > > Someone using a quote or a song for a school project is probably within > > "Fair Use" copyright guidelines and would not be subject to legal action, > > since they are using the material for educational purposes. Last I read, she said she was recording in the Tropics. How >vague is that? Quite vague. However, Tori is mainly WRITING the new album in the tropics. She will not be doing any heavy duty recording until October, when she goes to England (Cornwall) and starts recording in some old stables. That is what she said in the 99X interview in mid August. Early reports said that Tori was RECORDING in the tropics, but I see little evidence of that, and she did not say she was recording during that 99X interview. It is possible that Tori has done a little studio work, but it looks like most of it will occur next month.
