During a break btwn songs, I asked, "Hey Willie! How's Tori?" This was his reply: "Tori's fine, she's great, actually. Just talked to her last week. She's busy writing material for her new album." Thought you'd all want to know. Tracy ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 11 Aug 1997 13:33:48 -0400 (EDT) From: Eliza1138@aol.com Subject: hmm am i insane? I've been invoked! :) Once upon a time, some folks reported buying Pink Earthquakes as a set. However, stories varied: some folks said that it came with both UtP and LE, some folks said it just came with UtP, an dsome folks said it just came with LE. From the sounds of it, it really just sounds like stores bundled them up together themselves. The book itself is still quite easy to come by. My local Barnes & Noble had 3 in stock the last time I was in there. And of course, LE and UtP are still easy to come by as well. ;) /nad *************************************************************************** * Nadyne Mielke, CS majour, Southern Tech, Marietta, GA * * * * "I regret to say that we of the FBI are powerless to act in cases of * * oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate * * commerce. Oh, and it > would have to be an international store or a mail order type store, since > you can't find that sort of thing here in Chile (kind of isolated, I have > trouble getting tori's singles and EP's) Most online music stores stock books. If they don't, however, I'm sure that you can get them through Amazon: http://www.amazon.com -> I haven't done business with them, though, so I can't speak for them. > And could somebody tell me why is it so bad to buy "Some more for > Pele"? I bought it, and later I found out it was a "counterfeit". What are > "counterfeits"? And who makes them? A counterfeit is a bootleg that takes its material from legitimate releases. For example, "Some More for Pele" has songs from the CaLS, Talula, and Hey Jupiter singles {all of which are still very easy to come by}. To contrast counterfeits with just a plain bootleg, a boot is a recording of a live show. Now, you can argue that I'm calling the kettle black here, but I do my damnedest to not buy counterfeits. {I have a corollary coming up, wait for it.} Since all of the US singles are still in print and very easy to come by, I'd rather have the money going into Tori's pockets than some bootleggers. Yes, I do buy bootlegs, but since she hasn't released that particular show herself, I don't feel bad about it -> and even if she were to release a show that I had on a bootleg, I'd still buy it. My corollary to not buying counterfeits: I don't care if it's material that isn't available elsewhere. For example, I don't have a problem buying a boot that has the music from YKTR on it -> if I were to try to buy the real thing, it would cost around $100, and not a single penny of that would be headed in Tori's direction. If none of the money is going to Tori, then I'll go with the lesser of two evils. /nad *************************************************************************** * Nadyne Mielke, CS majour, Southern Tech, Marietta, GA * * * * "I regret to say that we of the FBI are powerless to act in cases of * * oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate * * commerce.
