They'll bring their friends and their friends will advertise and soon it's a big channel. Everyone on this list is so sweet, it's so different from the other lists I'm on where everyone's flaming each other. :) Here's some info I found out for the people who don't know this...There's a double CD out there called Dew Drop Inn Boulder, and it has the final November 11Boulder show and some highlights from the night before. It's supposed to have excellent sound (but supposedly it's very hard to find!!!). I tried installing it on my computer, an ancient 386/40 running windows (don't laugh!) and first off, I could never get it to register, even though I definitely had my ppp connection running correctly. Second, it screwed up Netscape on me as well. Even when teh program wasn't running, Netscape kept crashing on me. After I uninstalled ICQ, Netscape resumed working perfectly. Not a single crash since then. Anyone found a more reliable version of a similar program that doesn't require a pentium/486/or Win95? It's recently appeared on a bootleg CD called "Dew Drop Inn Boulder". This boot is a 2 CD set, and has all of the last show and highlights from the previous night. It's a *very* good set. They're currently located in Atlanta, but they're moving to Key West, FL. :( Their email address and URL don't work anymore, but should be back up after they're moved to Key West and have a new provider. Forgive me if i'm a little late. 1. The first tori song i ever heard was Crucify, just before the beginning of my sophomore year of high school. I was in the mall, of all places, trying on this really hideous white silk shirt. It had really big shoulder pads and i looked like a football player. The image of a woman having a desert in her mouth was just really intriguing. I tried for a while to find out what it was, and when i did, i asked a friend to buy it for me for Christmas. I would hear Tori songs on the radio and think "i can't wait. i need this right now. i'll go out and buy it and just have two copies." then i would go to the store and pick up the tape and look at it for a while. finally i got my tape. that particular copy of little earthquakes is long gone. After i bought a cd player (primarily so that i could buy tori singles and listen to them) i replaced it with a cd, and a couple of years ago i lent it to someone, whose sister took it and listened to it.... another one converted! 2. What i do: I'm going into my third year at Temple University, and i work at the Children's Zoo in the Philadelphia Zoo (America's Oldest Zoo and Home of the White Lions) (that's a zoo joke. if you worked there you'd get it. :) ) I'm a bug facilitator, which really means that i get to hold bugs all day for the public to see them. I like the bugs more. And there's actual Tori content in this part of the letter: we have this little stereo set up, to play a tape of crickets chirping, and it's set up so the speakers will go on when you open the wings of these large fiberglass crickets. We don't have a cricket tape, so i put in one of my tori complilations and we listened to that instead. I wanted to leave it on so that the visitors would be serenaded whenever they came by, but that didn't go over too well. Oh well. It's just a whole lot of fun to hear tori music coming out of the wings of a pair of huge fiberglass crickets. -=-laurie :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :: Basically, humans fall into two categories: joiners and :: :: individuals. The songs on it: Tori Amos: Silent All These Years Goo Goo Dolls: Name Dave Matthews Band: Satellite Melissa Etheride: I Want to Come Over Better than Ezra: Desperately WAnting Joan Osborne: Ladder Paul Westerberg: Love Untold Tracy Chapman: Fast Car Jars of Clay: Flood Dishwalla: Counting Blue Cars Jewel: You Were Meant for Me Bush: Comedown Barenaked Ladies: The Old Apartment Fleming & John: Love Songs All the tracks -except the Tori track- are from 99X Live X performances. The Tori track is the one from the Lifetime special, same as the track on the SATY '97 [1] release. I guess technically this isn't new material, but hey . . . it's Tori, and the net proceeds from the album go to RAINN's Campus Outreach program. It's a good cause, plus the other tracks are pretty damn good [2]. The cover artwork was created by "pop art icon" [3] Peter Max. The CD case itself is kinda like a jewel case, but it's not clear plastic. Instead, the edges are black plastic, and the cover is cardboard. {I'm probably not describing this very well. It's not that annoying "eco-pack" that isn't the right size and falls apart too easily, but it's still mostly cardboard.} If anyone's interested in this, it's only available through Atlanta-area Blockbuster Music stores. It's $14.99.
