I'm new to this list and just wanted to say hello. My cube-neighbor (hi Dilbert fans!) got me going with LE and I now have UtP and have finally made it through BfP in one listen with no interruptions or breaks (quite a feat in my mind). Needless to say I *love* Tori's music and words. I hope opinions about songs/records are welcome and would love to see more analysis on this list. For example, I'm new to Tori and am having a terrible time with BfP. I love the arrangements, the music, her voice, but none of the songs grab me by the shorts the way the other two did (UtP is my favorite - but it took a while). Have any of you grown to *love* BfP where it has become your favorite? I've been reading interviews on the web and thought it was rather humorous that Tori was asked if she had ever been on the net and she said that she posted something once and no one responded (my *exact* experience on RMTA). Well, that's my 0.02 worth for now. - Mark O. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Jul 1997 11:40:53 +0200 From: Arnaud Subject: Re: Winter singles... and singles in general... hi, >>And, a little discussion for our list... I've heard "Cornflake girl" two weeks ago but it's very rare. On TV, broadcasted clips were "Crucify" and "Cornflake girl". I've never seen "Caught a lite sneeze" (in France, at least) and never heard it on radio. BfP is pretty unknown here. The only chance you have to put Tori in mind of someone is to say "Remember, the red haired girl who sang "Crucify""... The most succesful single must have been the remix of "Professional widow" ! :( My two pence about IGG, in the end of September I've bought "Tori Stories" by snail-mail, from Rainy, with no problem at all. rainy@mindspring.com yours, Arnaud. mailto:dewdropinn@mail.dotcom.fr / mailto:kheops@worldnet.fr Beverley Craven Midi Page --- Tori Amos elevator music http://www.worldnet.fr/~kheops/ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 Jul 1997 11:21:10 PDT From: "Philip Parr" Subject: Collection for sale - here it is Hello All, As a courtesy to those not interested, I will post this once. The discs are all scratch/skip free and the lables/jackets are in decent shape too. My asking price for the colletion is $105.00 - that's $5 per disc. I am also asking for $5 for help with postage (UPS)-more if overseas. I need to sell this rather quickly - I'm in a crunch - so the first taker to come through will probably make it. I am not interested in selling a few discs here and there, I'd like to sell the lot. Save this however, because if I am unsuccessful I'll probably be interested in individual disc sales. If you feel comfortable in doing so, please include your telephone #. ***PLEASE RESPOND PRIVATELY*** Sorry this was so long, I hope somebody out there can take advantage of this offer. I found it to be most enlightening, to say the least; and indeed, Tori Amos was one of the bootlegged artists mentioned in the article. I won't attempt to characterize this article, but have included below the URL where it resides on the Post's website. Anyone who has trouble accessing this article who wants to see a copy of it should feel free to write me, and I'll send a copy out to you. Thanks.
