Nothing! it doesnt make the person, the mind makes the person if you dont like their views just keep away from them. i personally have friends that are of all those types they are all different but not cuz of the stereotypes, but b/c of minds. Do you think Tori would like all this bickering about the subject? Carol Ann ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 May 1997 03:31:32 -0400 From: "Michael L. Tori did have a HUGE lead, but now she is being overtaken by Gwen Steffani from No Doubt. We must not allow this to happen! We can show the world how powerful we Toriphiles are! :) Please go to the TV Guide web site and vote for Tori now! The URL is: http://www.tvguide.com/music/features/king/ You can also get to it from a link at my Dent web site. Vote as often as you can and thank you again for supporting Tori and helping to fight off this attempt to dethrone her! - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael L. This is also on my web page, A Dent in the Tori Amos Net Universe. (http://www.aye.net/~mikewhy/toriamos.html) Tori taking 2 years off? Hardly! We now know that she is in England working on the music for the forthcoming 20th Century Fox film adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic Great Expectations (I earlier speculated that the soundtrack she was working on was for a Neil Gaiman film). We first heard rumblings of Tori doing a soundtrack a few weeks ago, when Toriphile Dan reported that a Washington DC DJ mentioned it. Tori revealed more information in a radio interview Friday morning, May 16, on KROQ in Los Angeles on the Kevin & Bean show. The soundtrack is tentatively scheduled for release September 2, 1997 on Atlantic Records. The movie is directed by Alfanzo Cuaron and the cast includes Robert DeNiro, Ethan Hawke, Gwenyth Paltrow, and Ann Bancroft. This film reminds me of last year's "Romeo and Juliet", in that it involves placing classical characters in a contemporary setting. (Thanks to Theo and Roxanne for first alerting me to this.) David tells me that there is brief mention about Tori in the Sunday, May 18 issue of the Los Angeles Times in the Calendar Pop Music section: "Small Faces: Tori Amos is in London working with film composer Patrick Doyle on music for the updated film version of Charles Dickens' "Great Expectations," starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Ethan Hake, Anne Bancroft, and Robert De Niro. She's writing a song with Doyle and will have vocals featured throughout the movie. Both the film and the soundtrack album are due in September." Steve Pielocik tells us that Patrick Doyle has worked on such films as "Dead Again", "Much Ado About Nothing", "Sense and Sensibility", "Hamlet", and "Donnie Brasco". - ------ New music this fall from Tori! Turns out 1997 won't be so quiet after all :) Yours in Tori, Mikewhy - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael L. I guess I was right, the fact that people didn't know me as well made a huge difference. As opposed to the 16 out of 16 votes for bi that I got last time, this time it was 5 Gay, 7 Bi, and 7 Straight. I did mention Tori again this time and when I asked if that was a factor at the end, NO ONE said it had been part of their consideration. Looks like the 16/16 was just because so many people already knew me. At this last one, no one in the audience knew. Anyway, those are the results I promised. Take it easy, all.
