Can't remember the exact date, but it was the last song and I was shocked to hear it. So what is the accepted definition of Tori's "cornflake girl"? In one of my psyc textbooks it states that cornflakes (and graham crackers) were originally invented to ward off horny-ness. This was because of the belief that masturbating made one mentally ill. So I always thought that Tori ment that she was horny and tried the "cornflake route" but she really just wanted the real thing, so to speak. Also, i read that Cornflake Girl was inspired by Alice Walker's Possessing the Secret of Joy...well, I read it and I dont see the connection. Would anyone care to enlighten me? Would anyone care to enlighten me? I could really really go on forever about this, but the connection I see is women turning against women. "She's going to the the other side" makes me think of the betrayal. "Watchword" has meaning in it also, it means password or slogan. I thought the scaring rituals were taboo, secret-like, yet you were not admitted readily to the society unless you had undergone them, making them like a physical 'watchword'. "Rabbit" is a symbol of fear in some Native americna tribes, too. Hope I could help. ~Kimmy ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 25 Apr 1997 16:09:56 -0500 (CDT) From: MADRIGAL Subject: Re: YKTR Dew Drop I saw Tori perform Etienne in Lawrence, KS November 3 at the Leid center. it totally surprised me. :) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Apr 1997 19:25:26 -0700 From: Yanos Aldron Subject: YKTR Dew Drop I can tell you that she did play Etienne as an encore at the opening show of Oakland's Paramount gig here in CA on July 11, 1996 at 8:00p...She played 4 shows at this venue and i went to 3 of them and she only did it the first show. She brought out an old organ for the song-VERY cool indeed...i only wish i had my Minidisc recorder that night! cheers- Yanos ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 26 Apr 1997 11:25:34 +1000 From: "Andrew Price" Subject: Pink Earthquakes Boxed Set + Videos What is this??
