I saw a catalogue that says they are "diff to UK". the covers are the same. i suspect that the "diff to uk" refers to the fact that the contents of the american and uk crucify singles are different (or, perhaps, the contents of the american and uk winter singles are different). >7. Tori has a strong opinion on religion and she does go to church with >her family and sing sometimes... does it mean she still has some kinda >faith in God and pray to him/her or is it just fairies? i have the impression that tori, while not religious, is still a spiritual person. what that means to her personal faith and beliefs is not known to me. i'm sure someone with more interest in reading the interviews that she has done can give some specific responses that she has made regarding this issue. woj ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 6 Apr 1997 13:57:04 -0400 (EDT) From: HeyJupitar@aol.com Subject: Can You Help Me? Thanks I have a video of Tori singing this song three different times. I recorded it myself from the TV. The tape also has the Rainn concert on it. If you'd like me to make you a copy, I can do it if you send me a blank tape plus money for postage. He LIKES Tori!!! he thinks that Little Earthquakes was her best album and that she's strayed too far from the "girl and a piano" thing. i pointed out that if she had stuck with it, he'd be complaining too, and he acknowledged that much. he said that the album would have been better without Mr. Zebra, Little Amsterdam, Agent Orange, and a few others. he would have preferred Professional Widow done a different way! he also said that the album suffered repetition in songs like PW and BR and Donut Song and PTDO! HELP!! do you guys feel that way, or do you think she's grown and changed for the better? i think BfP is incredible! i wouldn't change a damn thing! everything that's in there is there for a purpose - Tori produced that album herself! i love UtP and LE too, but they're all good for different purposes, and i think Tori is getting better, not worse!! also - i'm missing 2 of the God mixes - the CJ Bolland and the acappella rain and vocal mix. if anyone could help me out, i'd appreciate it. ooh! and if anyone also has the some guitar and no guitar, i'd REALLY love you!! amber ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 06 Apr 1997 18:14:11 -0500 From: Cynthia Lawson Jaramillo Subject: Re: precious-things-digest V2 #95 Hello Nicholas >1. I happened to get 2 extra copies of the promo CD with MAAG and PTDO on it. If anyone wants these I want to do a trade for a couple of tapes or something. In no way do I want to sell these, but I would like to see them find nice homes...:) So, e-mail me if you want one. Jenn P.S. I also got that Delusions of Granduer CD with that Precious Things remix on it. It's definately one of the coolest tori remixes and doesn't make her voice sound all weird and repetitive. Too bad it wasn't done with her permission. That's it for the intro. Um - I'll tell you about my own experience with "Boys For Pele" and maybe it'll help to explain things. When I first heard it, I didn't care very much for it because hearing Tori steal away from her old albums by breathing more, having crazy instrumentations, and a lot of other things was kind of weird for me. But, a few weeks later, I went to see her in concert, became insanely obsessed and tried to give the album another go. I realized that there was so much that I had missed and that, in fact, it is so much more complex than the other two. You need to listen to it a bunch to see her genius. Make your roomie listen to it more and maybe he will come around. It's my favorite album, I think, because each song varies from the others. > >Entertainment Weekly didn't much care for it either. Probably because the reviewer only listened to it once and, being used to the Under the Pink Tori and the Little Earthquakes Tori, was probably a bit overwhelmed. Well, that's enough for today. Boys for Pele is wonderful. > >becky > > ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V2 #96 ************************************
