I hope all you faeries had an excellent X-mas break (Didn't get too drunk, did you? Nooooooooooo, of course you didn't (duh!!!). Anyway, I wish all of you the best for '97: health, love and lots of yummy cherry-pies. Ok, let's get down to business: I have been reading all the things you've been sending to pt for about a month now and I am starting to get really jealous of you American faeries. Apparently you have tv-appearances, tv-specials, radio-specials, special benefit concerts, while we Dutchies have absolutely zippo!! And sure: you can buy the albums here, bootlegs are not all that hard to find and there's the one or two concerts every two/three years, but as far as media attention is concerned: nada. I know we live in the nineties and that there indeed is such a thing as tape-trading, but still: I'd love to have more Tori directly over here!!!! Ooops, sorry about that, I just had to practise my mother tongue. Ok, enough wining for now, I have to go. Hope to hear from all of you soon, and to conclude this chat: here's a poem I wrote recently about Tori: Little girl sitting in the corner Practising her voice, but yet she's afraid to talk She watches the robins fly in her garden And wishes she could join them And then one day she spreads her wings and flies All the way up to where the angels skip ropes And from each cloud she passes She takes different shades of red She puts them in the innermost chambers of her soul And so they travel with her now They talk to her sometimes And sing her sweet lullabies before she goes to sleep Every once and a while they come out They run around the piano laughing happily or crying softly She lets them come, because they are part of her And she is part of them I think sometimes I hear them too * Bye, see you Stefan - The Flying Dutchman "If fashion is your trade, then when you're naked I guess you must be unemployed, yeah" (Jarvis Cocker, Pulp) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 3 Jan 1997 15:24:11 +0000 (GMT) From: Bono Subject: UK Prof Widow single I was in my local HMV today and the new Prof Widow remix single was played over the tannoy. I just couldn't help thinking what a travesty remixing Tori is. I know the record company are just trying to milk it, but diluting Tori's children into dance fodder is cheapening them.
