I include it intact, with no claims attached. Someone either on here or somewhere else mentioned that this was an improv of Tori's, so no written lyrics were penned by her. However, I noticed that Hamilton Ayres had transcribed the lyrics fairly well on his page. Here, with some editting, is what it said. Blue Skies Radio Edit yeah heah heah hea those blue skies are ahead blue skies in my head All the town clocks and marching soldiers (socks?) i say let's go let's go let's go to this magic wonder show and i'm walking and crawling and so tired i'm insane (so tour-on and sing? so too often seein'? (fwd) This is mike's view on voting for Tori in Playboy mag's poll, I 'd thought I'd pass it along! I have to agree with him- Playboy does not exactly help fight the partiarchy- it FEEDS it! - -K "I don't know my future after this weekend... and I don't want to!" -Bjork "She said 'I've got your voice' I said 'you don't need my voice girl, you have your own, but you never thought it was enough of'... She seems to be sand under his shoes..." - -Tori Amos I know this is a news mailing list, but I had to comment on this vote for Tori on the Playboy web site thing. Please forgive me. The following is my Humble opinion only... Is it really important that Tori win this award, best artists as voted by Playboy "readers"? I realize my position may not be popular, but I hope she does NOT win. If Playboy magazine makes you uncomfortable in any way I urge you not to vote. I simply can't promote this magazine in any way. My female friends can't even walk down the street without harassment and "Hey Baby" yelled out constantly...I think this mag contributes to this objectification of women as only sex objects. If you disagree with me, then that is fine! I am not trying to sway you. But IF you agree, then please avoid this poll...I am sure there are plenty more out there Tori can win! I only ask you to go with your conscience. Thank you and I will stop now. Again I am sorry for expressing an opinion on a news mailing list, and I will not mention this subject again here, but I could not resist. Thank you. I won't be too ashamed to admit it. Before I discovered Tori, I was one of those guys who gawked at those pictures in playboy. However, for the past two years, I've stopped. I can't do it anymore. To me, stuff like playboy now saddens me. It saddens me that we, as a society, still refuse to treat women as equals. Women earn 71 cents to every dollar of a man. There are only two jobs in which women are paid more than man (modeling is one of them). I attend a university where 60% of the undergraduates are women, yet there are only two female professors in the Computer Science department and ONE female professor in the Physics department. Tori's music has drastically changed my thoughts about the treatment women in society. To see Tori awarded the best musician in a playboy is something which defeats the purpose (sorry if I can't explain it better). Anyway, sorry for the lack of Tori content. Happy Holidays Everyone. Mickey PS I don't think Tori will win because Jewel fans are stuffing the ballot. It's another story which has caused me to leave the Jewel mailing list. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Dec 1996 16:39:45 -0500 From: Tori0907@aol.com Subject: Hello :) Hi :) I am new to this mailing list and I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Tori and I have just recently become a big fan of Tori's music...I didn't listen to her at first cause ppl used to always say..."Tori...as in Tori Amos?? Do you listen to her?" When they heard my name was Tori...but now I don't mind as much...it is much better than having them bring up Tori Spelling...Ugh. Anyhow, I just wanted to say Hello to everyone and thank the ppl on this list that have been so nice with helping me find this list and info on Tori...You guys are great :) Thank you!
