My dear Toriphiles, I have a strange request. I hope many of you concede to this little whim of mine. But, before I ask I have a little story to tell. Gather round, my little faeries. I'm currently residing with my parents after an absence (I call it freedom) of about 3 years. Now, those who know me (and there are some little Toriheads out there in Netland who know me well. Hi Guys!) know that my relationship with my parents is, well, it's strained to put it mildly. I guess we just don't see things the same way. The are very work-survival oriented while me goals are more spiritual with an aestete's twist. My parents get up in the morning, go to work so they can come home to do the same thing the next day - with an excursion to the movies once a week (there's some hope). I get up in the morning and go to work and hope I can find something to inspire and enlighten me. every moment is sacred to me, if I can help it. Anyway, the point of this rambling is this - my parents don't understand my relationship with Tori. I mean. don't get me wrong. My parents love music. BUT it must be pretty. My dad loves classical. My mom, the likes of Barbra Streisand, (eek!) Barry Manilow and (MUCh bigger eek!) Michael Bolton. The don't understand the way Tori breaks the rules. My dad can't get past Tori's sometimes disturbing vocal style to hear her mastery of the keyboard (I play piano - and I still have no clue how she does some of the things she does). I don't really know why it's so important to me for them to kow Tori. Maybe, it's one step closer to understanding who I am (after 25 years, you'd think they'd know). My dada is a lost cause. Once he has an opinion, it sticks - forever. My mom, however... Hmm... I think there's a chance there. You see, my mom loves her talk shows. Every day, she tapes her soaps and a few better-grade talk shows while she's at work. And my idea is this. There's one (only one) talk show host I respect. And that's Oprah Winfrey. So, guys, here's where you come in. If enouigh of you beautiful Toriphiles send letters and email to Miss Winfrey telling her how much Tori has meant to you and helped you and healed your lives I would think she'd be touched enough to invite her on. Especially, when she researches our Faery Queen and finds out about MAAG and RAINN. I just think an hour with Tori and Oprah would be amazing. They are both neautiful, empowered women. I'd love to see this. And' I'd really like everyone's help. To bring Tori's healing, wonderful energy to another generation might be very good for us. These people may never be Toriphiles, but at least they might undersand why we are. Please consider this... Jaysen P.S. this is the only snail mail address I could find... I know that on AOL there's a way to mail her... But, I don't know if it's an actual address that all internet users can use, like Oprah@aol... If someone could research this and post an answer, I'd appreciate that as well... Namaste Oprah Winfrey p.O.
