BULLSHIT! This "artist" doesn't DO SHIT! >Has she ever been shot at in the heat of battle, as a soldier or >fighter >pilot would? And it's not just >Tori >Amos, it's all these so-called "artists", the David Byrnes, the Peter >Gabriels, the Alanis Morrisetes, the whoever and whatevers, these >people >are MUSICIANS! That's all they do! PLAY MUSIC! If an asteroid struck >the >earth, who would re-build society? The engineers, the carpenters, the >technicians, the plumbers, the scientists, the doctors, the nurses, THE >REAL PEOPLE, that's who. Fucking musicians WOULD BE FOOD! No, I'd say that the engineers, carpenters, technicians don't rebuild society, they rebuild "civilisation as we know it". Society isn't the material infrastructure; society is the people, their culture, beliefs, values, laws, knowledge, philosophy, ... I'd say musicians were more crucial to society's survival than engineers. (And BTW, I'm an engineer). Then again, I wouldn't say it, because he obviously isn't willing or able to work on that level of understanding. - -- Ken Tough Objective Technologies Ltd ken@objectech.co.uk PO Box 8, TRURO, United Kingdom ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V1 #172 *************************************
