She also did some BV's on each of the albums (and is mentioned in the lyrics of Father Lucifer). Unfortunately, that's all I know. I don't have any of his recordings myself, but any large record store is likely to, and one could track him down through the record companies, I suspect. By the way, =Boys for Pele= is still hovering a little below #100 on the Billboard chart. ------------------------------ From: Richard Holmes Date: Wed, 12 Jun 1996 16:34:11 -0700 (PDT) Subject: Re: replies and reviews Woj writes: > it's pretty clear that tori is half in this world and half > in the realm of fairie (or maybe the dreaming). i think > that appeals to many folks, including me. i'm not a > terribly spiritual person, but i do think that there is a > piece missing in humanity that was lost sometime in our > relentless advances. tori's regained that piece and i feel > that most people still yearn for some kind of magic in > their lives, whether they know it or not. What's interesting is that she's regained that peice within a modern context (which a lot of people do in spiritual discussions, although musically its not done often). However, she's got a very emotional, instinctive reaction to this world in her music as well - sort of like a hyper-aware human-animal capable of shamanistic trance at will - willing to growl, dance, and sing her thoughts and emotions as she's feeling them. > tori's > connection with her audiences, i think, comes from this. > sure, there's a fair amount of carnal attraction from her > audiences, but the level and type of devotion is different > from other performers' and bands' fans. not more pure or > somehow "higher", but certainly more magical. I think that she makes it possible to be attracted to her on many levels - I tend to dislike performers who play up the "carnal attraction" bit, but I think she's just being honest - not playing the "sex star" - something I can't say about some other performers. Anyway, I'm rambling heavily here. - -Richard. @ \@/ Richard A.
