I checked my old Filmgoers Companion and found something about Tallulah Bankhead !! It goes like this: Bankhead, Tallulah (1902-1968) Gravelvoiced, highly theatrically leading lady of american stage & screen. The daughter of ab eminent politican, she titilated broadway and London in the twenties by her extravagant performance on stage and off, and later tended to fritter away her considerable talents by living too dangerously. Films never managed to contain her. Mrs. Patrick Campell (wife of the british humorist) said: "Tallulah is always skating on thin ice. Everyone wants to be there when it breaks" She said about herself: "I'm as pure as the driven slush" "Cocaine isn't habit forming. I should know -- I've been using it for years" And as a reult in the later years: "They used to photograph Shirley Temple through gauze. They should photograph me through linoleum" When asked: Are you really the famous Tallulah ? "What's left of her" "The only thing I regret about my past is the length of it. If I had to live over again, I'd make the same mistakes, only sooner" Sooner or later she alienated most of her friends. Howard Dietz said "A day away from Tallulah is like a month in the country" I have a filmography too, if someone want's it email me privately. See ya ! There's a "periodical CD-ROM" type bi-monthly thingy called Launch, and issue 6 has Tori Amos, with a semi-interactiive interview sort of thing, and live performance of Marianne, so look in software stores and/or bookstores, I guess. I found it at our university bookstore. Oh yeah.. it was $10. It also has a review of BFP with samples of three bfp songs. - -- du ub pq qjT " u_ u " Tjp pq du ub dM~W~Mb .d b. qT N^8_N Tp .d b. dM~W~Mb qM Mp dBbdBb TI T ^T IT dBbdBb qM Mp q p P T JBb _. ._ dBL P T q p . . . . ~TBbodBT TBbodBT~ . . . . `~` `~` MaLjaMiN Josh Sutterfield joshu@umr.edu http://www.umr.edu/~joshu ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V1 #76 ************************************
