Both are intertwined - I don't see how you can separate them and say one's superlative to the other. They're both beautiful, expressive, and are the whole essence of what Tori is about. ============================================================================ "The panic seeps through bloodstained floors as Grendel stalks the night" - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- St Aidan's College, University Of Durham. http://www.dur.ac.uk/~d550du ============================================================================ ------------------------------ From: Richard Holmes Date: Thu, 7 Mar 1996 09:09:32 -0800 (PST) Subject: Re: Quesion of the day Adam writes: >Today's Question of the day is- >What do you like about Tori the most? >Her music, or her lyrics? Honestly, I couldn't do without either one... even being a "lyric" person, in that I won't like it if I don't like the lyrics, and I'll buy stuff unheard if I read good ones! After playing guitar to "Boys for Pele" I've concluded that for tori at least, words and music are inseparable. The lyrics are expressed via the music. When I first started listening to Tori, I didn't even listen to the lyrics, for the music was so strong and innovative. I really didn't feel like I needed to to understand Tori. To this Audience, she is one of the most powerful, talented musicians in the world. What is there not to like about her music. She is classical and Rock together, I don't mean classic rock. She knows how to re-write the rule books of music. Her music floats out of your speakers and trembles through your body. Tori's music is punctuated with powerful emotions. For a more complete picture, we throw in the lyrics. To me, the lyrics highlight the emotions and the music. The lyrics add the color. I knew what most of the answers were going to be like, I just wanted to hear more opinions about her musical ability. It seems like people study her lyrics more than her music. Which is understandable, because they are there for us to discuss. More errors for confusion. Anyways, I am late so I must leave for now. Later all, Have a good day. Does anyone know if it is to be released on Tuesday, March 12 in the US. I haven't heard anything about a US release date. I think the music wouldn't be what it is now without those lyrics, and the other way round too.
