Sooo many good songs.... and from all accounts, Jamaica Inn actually didn4t suck at the Glasgow show. She covered Turn by Travis and Nothing Happens by Del Amitri which was a bit cliche playing it in Scotland and all (although it allayed our fears that she was going to cover 500 Miles by The Proclaimers). My fave songs.... Twinkle (which i think she cut sleeps with butterflies to play) was amazing, and a bit of a surprise. It was a Scottish theme to the night really, coz she explained that she wrote this song when she was stuck on an island off the north west coast of scotland (Iona) and how she wanted to play it because she thought Scots would understand it best. Lurrrrvely song. Marianne was good (altough the pink disco lighting in the middle of the song was a tad inappropriate). Nothern Lad, Cooling, Merman.... all the faves were there. And Yes Anastasia was incredible. She was really on form too, quite a good giggle during the show. The sound quality was exceptional and her voice was perfect, she was hitting all the high notes. A couple of oopsies during some songs, can4t remember which ones but she stopped a couple of times and started again (with the obligatory 4fuck ' lets start again). I missed the meet and greet unfortunately (i fell asleep on the couch, almost missed the show too!!) however i did head down to Newcastle yesterday for the meet and greet, only to discover that she decided to come out really early, and just about everyone including me missed her. i missed her by 5 mins grrrrr. Ach well.... what can you do. it was a nice trip down on the train, and it was free coz i work for the railways anyways. The set list was as follows. Original Sinsuality Father Lucifer Cars and Guitars Northern Lad Jamaica Inn Cooling Bells For Her Nothing Ever Happens (Del Amitri cover) Turn (Travis cover) Ruby Through The Looking-Glass Marianne Mother Revolution Yes, Anastasia The Beekeeper 1st Encore Silent All These Years Merman 2nd Encore Twinkle Toast Hey Jupiter Hey jupiter was great, would have loved to have heard it played on the piano but the organ thingy was just as good. Hearing Silent All These Years was like listening to an old friend. Ahhhhh too many things to say about the concert, but I am so happy now I4ve finally gotten to see her live. Hurrah for me! In other news.... I4ve managed to locate the question mark on this spanish keyboard ??????? see! I4m so clever. Can4t work out how to change everything into english however, which makes using word a little impossible.
