Hey you lot, do any of you know if Tori's autobiography (the 'Piece by Piece' one, not 'All These Years') is available in Australia (or, even better, anywhere in Brisbane?)? Mail-order's fine; am equipped with credit card; I'm just impatient when I decide to buy something: want it immediately if not sooner. ;-) And, to anyone who's read it: what was it like? I read the few sample pages on amazon.com and found all those short sentences a little trying, but with Beekeeper beginning to grow on me, find myself interested all the same. Is it worth shelling out for? Ta! Becc ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 May 2005 17:45:04 +1000 From: Rebecca Appleton Subject: Re: [oztori] Piece by Piece? Don't think it got released here. Borders said they would order it in though. Not sure what the wait is for it. While you're making your amazon.com purchase (when, errors in logic pending, you realise that it shall be a *far* more economical option than purchasing 'Orshtrayan Made' (TM)), perhaps while you're on the site, a search for 'anger management' wouldn't hurt either, yeah? Ta! :) And Nathan wasted more of our bandwidth with more unhelpful idiocy only barely pertaining to the topic, writing: >It's obvious you've not had much experience dealing >with Australia Post. It's obvious you haven't had much experience dealing with amazon.com. Either you order a new copy and pay a fortune in postage and handling, or you buy a second-hand copy and wait for anything up to 6 weeks. And, anger? Wouldn't waste my energy on you, sweetpea. Hmmm. Nice to Renee who advocates amazon.com even more strongly than I, but bitchy to moi who merely made the suggestion. > And, anger? Wouldn't waste my energy on you, > sweetpea. Nathan, I think you'll find my reason for being "nice" to Renee and"bitchy" to you has nothing to do with inconsistency and everything todo with the two of you being on polar opposite ends of the BehavesLike A Human Being scale. You wilfully misread my email in order totry to rile me up/gain some attention by questioning my logic, and...and... well, that was about ALL you did, really. The others offeredsome helpful suggestions, for which I thank them. You sought the sameego-stroking for which you're usually despised, participation in whichI rejected. And, heh, don't flatter yourself by thinking emailrequires much energy. By all means, please let us know how 'well' you go with RedEye in terms of both price and delivery time (last thing I ordered from them took 5 working days to get from Sydney to far, distant VIC... cf 3 working days for the last thing I got from amazon.. but good luck to you, Rebecca :) Nathan. Priced at #9.09 on amazon.co.uk (around A$25.00), it would then cost around #5 to post I guess from me to you. Let me know if you need any assistance. 10 days till Tori - Arrrrrggghhhhhh!!!!! 21 days till REM too! Off to see them play at Balloch Castle on the Bonniest of Bonny banks of Loch Lomond. Might be seeing U2 in June too, playing Hampden Park in Glasgow - a friend may not be able to attend so I'm on standby. There are still no plans to release it in Australia. I'm going to guess that the only way that we'll see an Australian release is if she decides to tour down there again, but I think that we'd be more likely to see a single. I'd hope for another 'special tour edition' like More Pink, but that's rather unlikely. There is a trade paperback (one of those big paperbacks) coming out in the States in January, which will be cheaper but isn't exactly going to get to anyone very fast. FWIW. :) /nm ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 May 2005 09:47:16 -0700 From: Nadyne Mielke Subject: Re: [oztori] Piece by Piece On 27 May 2005, at 3:18, Andrew Darwin wrote: > I couldn't seem to find an Aussie release date, but it's released here > in the UK next Wednesday on 1st June.
