Maybe it was being closer to the 'aktion' (toriesque pronunciation), or the fact that it was budget night, but the show seemed somehow more involving. Tori got three standing ovations (beginning & both encores) and I think that sort of demonstrates that the audience was more involved. I think she played more Beekeeper stuff this time around (which I'm not entirely enamored by [although listening to it on the flight back to Perth I'm discovering more that I like]), but someone who actually remembers the setlist would have to clear that up :) Bits of setlist I can remember: Father Lucifer, Bells For Her, Snow Cherries, Mary of the Sea, Drawing a Blank.. > Now, a few of you know that I recorded the show to my mp3 player. > Unfortunately, the quality is nothing short of shithouse - it barely > rates as being even listenable, to be honest. The sound was a little 'off' in the concert hall anyway, no? And Tori really needs an underwater mike that won't short out when she dribbles - I'm sure none of us wants to (quite literally) see a flaming redhead on stage :) > And yeah, I got the bit with her saying that her daughter "nearly got > them arrested" at Sydney Airport :) If it was the heavyset female security officer with a thick german accent who accosted me at Sydney - "take off ze shoes" - I can imagine why Tash caused a fuss :) #ennu* ______________________________ | Official Concert Scorecard | | | | Beekeeper VS Sleep | | | | 0 3 | - ------------------------------ _ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 May 2005 03:53:10 -0700 (PDT) From: Natti "®" Subject: [oztori] Wayne in Timbuktoo[Scammed] Alf Stewart wrote: > someone who actually > remembers the setlist would have to clear that up :) > Bits of setlist I can remember: Father Lucifer, > Bells For Her, Snow > Cherries, Mary of the Sea, Drawing a Blank.. Still in the process of downloading so don't know about the quality. It was a very BK / SW setlist. It was a good concert, but I just thougt her energy was a little low and SW isn't one of my favourite albums of hers. I got close to my ultimate set list at the 1st Sydney concert, so I am a happy girl. ~Bindy Go to: http://www.livejournal.com/users/cancerian/ for Ramblings From The Moon Child ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 12 May 2005 11:35:16 +1000 From: "Leia Demtschyna" Subject: [oztori] Melbourne Tori Show Hi there, Does anyone have any information about the melbourne fan meet up today and the tori meet and greet? Hi everyone - a week or so ago I was the most fortunate tori fan in the US when I found out Tori was playing the Opera house the night I was to fly into Sydney for a business trip. I was able to find a great ticket that a Tori fan was selling on Ebay, won the auction, arranged to have the ticket dropped off at my hotel, life is good. Of course good luck always ends and just 12 hours ago I got final word that my trip had been cancelled. Yikes. Long story short, I have the ticket shown here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4724991906&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 http://tinyurl.com/a54ky (if that link doesn't work in your browser) Great second row box seat - probably would have been the best Tori show that I've ever seen. If someone is looking for an extra ticket for the show this would be a perfect one to grab. I'd sell it for face value or make an offer ($110 aud?) - Don (the ebay seller) has graciously agreed to meet up with whomever before the show and handle the sale for me if I can find someone. I would even be willing to do an "honor system" if that works (get the ticket, if you enjoy it find a way to paypal or money transfer afterwards...) Would be great if I could recoup some of the cash I spent on it! Anyway - here's some contact information if anyone's interested: sped@erstads.com SMS text message: 7012615271@vtext.com I'm 15 hours behind you - it should be about noon Sydney time right now, so obviously time is a bit of a factor... thanks a lot for letting me clog up the mailing list with this request. Oh, by the way - not sure if there's an "cred" needed, but you gotta trust the guy that does the Tori Stats page right? www.toriset.org Thanks a lot, Sped ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 May 2005 22:22:55 -0500 From: Shane Erstad Subject: [oztori] Follow-Up: Ebay Listing Just to make things easier on anyone that might be interested in ticket described earlier, I went ahead and listed it on Ebay with a Buy It Now price of $110 (I gotta get to bed!) Hardly anyone in the front rows got off their > seats after the main set. Everyone was up at the Sydney ones. admittedly I couldn't see the front rows but we were all getting off our butts in the middle - front rowers obviously don't deserve their tickets.. at the Sydney shows only the first couple of rows got up so I thought it was nice to see more people making the effort in Brisbane > Marys of the Sea wasn't played at all. :) my 'BK' knowledge is abysmal - it was that one that went "hm hmmn hn" has that thing in the middle, yknow? >Girl in the balcony, wanted to throw her off the edge. Just because Tori is >taking a breath during a song - doesn't indicate screaming requirement to >me. IMHO sydney was way, way more civilised and a) respectful of Tori and >b) respectful of the fellow listeners. i'll second that. there were screams if Tori flicked her hand, each time she did the 'hold the note while swapping from organ to piano' thing, basically anything that wasn't singing. >It's been on the dent for aaaaaaaaaaaages. Your list is obsolete. and incomplete, and inaccurate - which makes me eminently qualified to review Tori concerts for a living >The 'Alf' reference lies therein. I was in the fourth row and we all stood up three times -- once after the main set, and once again after each encore. Then remained standing at the end until the lights came up. Which admittedly wasn't long, but we were like yoyos going up and down at the end. :) Didn't look behind me, but everyone in front of me was up on their feet repeatedly.
