Hey, I'm a uni student with free tuition, a sweet tax free stipend and a part time job that has heaps of leave clocked up and a ridiculously high hourly rate. If I have to wait another 10 years for Tori, then for a week it's time to hang ten honey, I'm gonna go where she goes. [Except for one night that week, when I have to take The Boy to a different concert for his birthday.] And hey, I'm not the only one! I know a few list members seing multiple cities! Too many to choose from at the moment! Some Aussie stuff would be nice. >There's piano in Khe Sahn... ;) Oh, please, not Khe Sahn. A personal favourite I'd always like to see covered is L7's "Shitlist". I can truly imagine Tori pounding on the piano while letting loose a guttural, snarled "shiiiiiiiiiitttttt-list!". As a more serious selection, as much as this song has come to annoy me over the years, I'd like to hear her do Live's "Lightning Crashes". She'd absolutely murder it. But I'd be happy to hear her cover "Purple Rain" again. My best guess if a meet and greet happens is that it will be under the stairs of the Opera House, as that's where the performer entrance is. I can't imagine them using the underground car park. There's also a strict bag policy there, in that you can't take anything in larger than a handbag into the main auditorium, otherwise you'll have to check your bag first. The odds are also high even if you are taking a small bag in they'll at least want you to open it. You can blame our "heightened state of alert" on that since it's a major landmark. There is also an overall policy against recording of any form though they may not police it. Just re-joined oztori after a three year absence. Some of you may remember me from films such as.... god I can't even remember if i used a nickname then or not. Anyhoo..... I'm Andrew, formerly from Melbourne. I left Melb three years ago and moved to Scotland where i still reside. Ringing any bells yet? nevermind. I don't remember you either. Well, I must say, I was horrified/shocked to learn that Tori is touring Oz! I can't believe it. Having endured years of a tori-tourless existence, Tori announces her UK tour and I happily snap up some great seats for the Glasgow show. Today, I happen to glance at something on a noticeboard saying '....sydney show....' and lots of exclamation marks. I'm flabbergasted, she's touring Aus and I'm not bloody there!!!!! Nevermind. I'm still getting my piece of the pie. So hi from me, I'll hang around for a while coz i got a new job and lots of time on my hands that comes along with it. Any oldies still around from a few years ago? gosh... I really do. But your information is, I'm sorry to say, out of date. The currency of your information can be checked by: (a) calling or visiting the websites of the agents concerned [go to Visa Preferred's website and you will notice that it lists allocation as exhausted; go to Ticketek and you will notice that the second show has not only already gone on sale but it has already had its allocation exhausted]; and (b) reading this list [you will notice that Visa Preferred, the possibility of further shows, and the second Sydney show have all been mentioned on list in the last few days]. Sadly, it has been my experience over the last few days that no one source is a definitive source for Tori tour info. Supposedly, even Tori's Australian record company did not know a tour was planned until the day it was announced to the public! Also, things move very quickly ... for example, when new seats were released for Sydney 2 yesterday, people who acted quickly got EXCELLENT seats (and I mean first 8 rows, centre), but those who were even half an hour late got nothing. I recommend keeping an eye and an ear open, and regularly checking lists like this one, and the Tori forum at www.atforumz.com, where other fans will post their own discoveries as they happen. I hope you were able to get tickets to whatever shows you wanted to go to! Best Julian Find local movie times and trailers on Yahoo! My first experience of buying tickets for anything so popular (panic!) and was advised that I should buy directly from the SOH. After hammering the SOH phone and website (which both didn't work for me) I called Ticketek at about 10:25am Friday morning. Single seat for second Sydney showCircle Box C #23. Took it. Out of curiosity I checked back on the SOH Box Office and they had stalls seat F21 (max 10 consecutive seats) available at about 5:40pm in the afternoon. Checked again at 6:10pm and they'd sold out back to L30 and max of 2 tix. Oh well, lesson learnt. Just glad to be going. . ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 9 Apr 2005 14:28:01 +1000 From: "Renee Hill" Subject: RE: [oztori] Canberra show [now maybe not] cancelled! >And hey, I'm not the only one!
