Well "we are all TOGETHER ALONE", to quote the opening line of Voice of the Beehive's 'Perfect Place' (US sisters with some ex-Madness members as a band, who were UK-based and had some brief success in the late 80's/early 90's, biggest hit here being a cover of the Partridge Family's 'I Think I Love You' in 1992), and the title of Crowded House (Paul Hester RIP)'s 1993 album (capitalis/zed part). n. But then we can't be that boring since we are your fellow Tori's ears on foot/fans. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 5 Apr 2005 07:11:44 -0700 From: Nadyne Mielke Subject: Re: [oztori] Sydney's show tic info On 05 Apr 2005, at 6:11, Jas J wrote: >> Ah so you're an evil commerce faculty student? > *throws something pointy at Nathan* > We're not all evil! I can say that because I've been on the faculty before, and will probably end up back in academia someday. :) /nm ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 5 Apr 2005 07:18:32 -0700 From: Nadyne Mielke Subject: Re: [oztori] Sydney's show tic info On 05 Apr 2005, at 1:56, Nathanfl-Quentin . wrote: > I did post about this on @forumz - the price was $41 > in 1994 - and inflation would not have trebled that > amount during this time. Tsk tsk Myra Ellen Hawley > ('meh'?). My first Tori show, also in 1994, was US$20. Face value for the current tour is $45, although that's not the most expensive that she's done -- I think that the last tour with the band rang in at $60+fees. (Scalpers are currently asking $500 and up for tickets at the show in my area.) I've been consistently amazed at how much ticket prices have increased in the past ten years, and that's before the scalpers get their hands on them. Tickets for Peter Gabriel's last tour were $150 each. The cheapest tickets for U2's current tour are $115, and that's in the very very back of a huge arena. In the US, even though fewer people are going to concerts, the revenues generated from concerts have consistently risen. (I dunno if this is true elsewhere, but I assume that it is, since ticket prices seem to be very high across the board.) With $150 tickets, it's easy to see why both of these statements are true. It's sad that the fans can't actually afford to go to the shows anymore. /nm ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 5 Apr 2005 16:23:06 -0700 (PDT) From: "Nathanæl-Quentin" "®" Subject: Re: [oztori] Sydney's show tic info Jaz J wrote: > > Ah so you're an evil commerce faculty student? > > *throws something pointy at Nathan* Your conical bra, perhaps? Geez, we're only being charged 83% more! *rolls eyes* Protest with your feet, ears! What were Dealt A Good Rim's tickets going for recently - at some stupid price, which resulted in none of her shows selling out? *guffaw* Re there being any "tics" @ Tori's Sydney show(s) - I don't think so - she's too botoxed to have them ;) n.
