I went to the one in the Brisbane city store, but imagine it will be the same around Australia. It is the one that include the DVD doesn't include the seed packet. As a side note: I enjoyed the DVD. Takes you more on a journey behind the songs. I love her way of seeing the world. ~Bindy Go to: http://www.livejournal.com/users/cancerian/ for Ramblings From The Moon Child ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 Feb 2005 13:34:51 +1100 (EST) From: Julian P Subject: Re: [oztori] beekeeper Lim Ed cheap --- "Bindy ." wrote: > Just thought ya'll would like to know that JB Hi Fi > has a heap of Limited > Edition copies of the Beekeeper for just $16. > > I went to the one in the Brisbane city store, but > imagine it will be the > same around Australia. Nope. J-B Hi Fi in Sydney has TBK Lt Ed for $29 and the standard for $24. No seed packet on the domestic release, huh? Bummer ... Find local movie times and trailers on Yahoo! Subject: [oztori] First Listen of The Beekeper I have had the opportunity to listen to the entire album now and there were a few things I noticed on my first listen I wanted to share. Sweet the Sting: I love the groove thang she has going on with this track. Barons of Suburbia: I love this track and the raw sound that is almost BFP like General Joy: Someone help me out here. What is the key changes and tempo alterations I am hearing in this track remind me of (another Tori track)? I have been trying to pin point the song that is similar to this and I can't think of it. Witness: This sounds like it has been taken from a musical and due to my thing for that styling this is becomming my favourite The Beekeeper: Does anyone else hear Bjork in this song? The background music sounds like it came straight out of a Bjork track. I think so much more that could have been done with this track but fails to happen. Hoochie Woman: This song is so much fun! Hoochay! On a whole I think The Beekeeper has potential to be a lot more than it has become. It kind of slumps into a bland monotone state in a lot of sections. I love the concept behind it, but I think it is lacking deverse emotional energy. What do you think? ~Bindy Go to: http://www.livejournal.com/users/cancerian/ for Ramblings From The Moon Child ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 Feb 2005 19:08:11 +1100 (EST) From: Julian P Subject: Re: [oztori] First Listen of The Beekeper > General Joy: Someone help me out here. I didn't like GJ much at first for that reason (I don't like Sweet Sangria too much), but now I think GJ is a good 'rock Tori' track. > The Beekeeper: Does anyone else hear Bjork in this > song? The background > music sounds like it came straight out of a Bjork > track. That's what my b/f said the first time he heard the song. Personally, I think she's chanelling her TVAB days (for me, the song fits in nicely with Suede and Juarez) and maybe captures what she was trying to do with Raining Blood (ie, slow, atmospheric and creepy) but failed miserably. > I think so much > more that could have been done with this track but > fails to happen. NOOOOOOO! The song is amazing -- lyrically and musically!! (It would be my favourite, if not for TPOOK winning my heart.) > On a whole I think The Beekeeper has potential to be > a lot more than it has > become. I thought that TBK had its lull moments too on the first few listens, but I've come to appreciate the more subtle, understated beauty of songs like Mother Revolution and Original Sinsuality. Even Ireland -- probably the cheesiest thing she's done since YKTR -- has its charm. Jamaica Inn is probably the only song that doesn't cut it for me, but heaps of people at the @forumz list it as their favourite, so 'go figure'. 'Sides, with a 19 song album, you can afford to hit 'skip' a few times (and in these b-side-less times, I'd rather as many songs on a CD as can fit, even if not all of them are really of album standard). ===== ___________________________ www.livejournal.com/~blade_to_ice ___________________________ the needle is hot and my cells cannot feed and you obtained still that beauty that drags the feet that I hide it well ernestine of sister but I obtained still that beauty that drags the feet ... you are dull to the mountain surpasses I say that the thin legs would be able to utilize the sun but now desire for my better impression of my better one dickinson of angie Tori - To Spanish and Back ____________________________ Find local movie times and trailers on Yahoo!
