It's Cooling '04. And Tori's voice goes scary deep in the bridge. But scary deep good. 8.5/10 Bug A Martini - Dear Tori, Austin Powers called, and he wants his theme song back. (Oh and she SO says "bugger Martini" *giggle*) 9/10 Apollo's Frock - oooh, someone pissed Tori off. Someone pissed Tori off BAD. It's Cooling + Yes, Anastasia + Icicle + PMS. 10/10 Tombigbee - it's Tombigbee! 8/10 Seaside - it's okay. It's Gold Dust Lite. Mmmmmm Gold Dust. 6/10 Indian Summer - okay I like the studio one more than the live, but the lyrics still need work, and I checked at 7.00 mins to see if I didn't have the thing on repeat ... I would have preferred Mountain. 6/10 Overall a big surprise ... the production is nice but rarely if ever overbearing ... the minimal songs like Indian Summer don't sound so half-assed as SLG, but not everything is tweaked to perfection like SW. Tori's voice - while lower than her previous recordings - is still quite strong and full sounding, and she sounds like she cares about what she's singing. And four of the six songs are pretty piano heavy (and Tombigbee and Bug actually are good Rhodes songs!). So yay! AF: OK. Not as good as I was expecting it to be with all the fuss made over it, but nice. Nice chorus. But it never quite 'breaks loose'. It lacks structure & plods in places. An edited version would have been better. She is so going to sing 'ooooooooo-weeeeeeeeeeez byeeeeeetifooooooool' when she does this live. RTTLG: I like the different chords in this one... it reminded me early on slightly of the Church's Under the Milky Way with its chord progression in the first verse for some reason. The change in the middle is nice, but doesn't really go anywhere either. One thing I think I've just put my 'finger on' listening to these... There's something about Tori's voice/accent these days (ie, post Y2K) that has an uncanny resemblance to Buggs Bunny gnawing on a carrot & saying "I KNEW I shoulda taken that left-turn at Alberquerque". If Buggs was a middle-aged woman, he'd sing like Tori on SHT. oh yeah you can get the mp3s at http://gloforumz.com/index.php?s=2006d704a453a47943db56c68a14dd66&showtopic=2530 for anyone who wants to save their pennies. n. ===== "So what are your 'feelings' re last night?
