So you can see Tori in her latest shocking "Endora" outfit? Nathan. ===== "So what are your 'feelings' re last night? Wonder how Lal is feeling about it all? He mentions how Rattlesnakes was nearly a B-side (oh dear) and some other song... he hopes is left for a greatest hits or something!! And what is Hoover Factory!?! ...well, I thought that the stories would be up on the web pre-publication, along with the photos; they even video'd a conversation between me and Tori in London, where I read the stories and we talked about the songs and the characters and where they'd come from -- chatted about everything from Cindy Sherman to how Rattlesnakes snuck off the B-list and surprised everyone, and the B side songs (After All, Only Women Bleed, Hoover Factory, and the one I hope she keeps for a greatest hits album or something) and so on. It could be it didn't work, or there wasn't time to get it edited, or something. But as I've said on the Well every time it's been mentioned, Tori never wanted the stories in the CD booklet, she always wanted a line from them there, and then the stories published in the tour booklet. It's her call -- I wrote them for her. (I hope they send me the tour booklet stuff to proofread before it goes out. They always forget, and it's sometimes embarrassing.) SO, what are the other tracks that we've heard about - but haven't heard... the list must be shortening now - shouldn't it? Nathan?? Fresh-mown Grass?? To the Fair Motor-Maids of Japan?? Zero Point?? Snow Cherries and JADF have been used. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Dec 2003 22:10:51 +1000 From: AndrewR Subject: [oztori] link to those stories They are very cool... The other song was probably "I'm Sick Of You" (by Iggy Pop). She was going to do it on the harpsichord, but couldn't get it right or something, & it never got recorded. She also thought about doing Public Enemy's "Fear of a Black Planet". > SO, what are the other tracks that we've heard about > - but haven't heard... > the list must be shortening now - shouldn't it? > > Nathan?? "Fresh Mown Grass" lyric is also included in Berlin Wall or Peeping Tomi (memory fails me at this point) - 2 unreleased songs which you can read the lyrics to now on www.yessaid.com - Berlin Wall is on the LE page under unreleased I think, and ditto with Peeping Tomi but on the UTP page. > To the Fair Motor-Maids of Japan?? > Zero Point?? y. Though Zero Point wasn't recorded. Some think it might have evolved into ICSNY (I Can't See New York - for Andrew's purposes). There's also: Learn To Fly (LE era) and covers of Like A Virgin & Love Is A Battlefield ...and a bunch of other stuff (mostly pre YKTR) to which a 'vault' site is dedicated, and I no longer have bookmarked (though have it printed out somewhere), but can't be arsed to locate it at this ungodly hour :) Nathan. ===== "So what are your 'feelings' re last night?
