Aw, someone remembers me!!! Yeah, nearly two months late I'm finally deciding to read some Oztori email!!! It just kinda piled up when I was working on a cross-stitch (non Tori this time), then holidays, then a death in the family, then the daunting appearance of 700+ emails in a folder... I'm so far behind. But I couldn't let it get to 1000, and because I jsut cannot bear the thought of missing something, I'm actually looking at them all. Skimming them or I'd be here forever. A few threads I would have commented on (like miss-pronounciations... 'filim' for 'film' is one I can't stand, and I know I've mentioned 'TonGa' for 'Tonga' (pronounced 'Tong-a') before. The biggest irony about all of this & "Scarlet's Walk" is... that Tori herself basically cares fuck-all about touring 'the-world-outside-of-America'. She's basically no better than America is, believing itself to be The Centre of The Universe. I have a theory that she avoids the UK now b/c she lives there & perhaps doesn't want to be 'too famous' there. But can't see what her prob with Oztraaaaya is though... (other than, perhaps, we're the arse end of the world, approximately 89% of the population can be classified as 'feral' & we are run by a 'constipated man')... "I'm touring most American cities 3 times on this tour because come September 5, Tash's 3rd birthday, Husband & I are selling up & moving to Australia for good!" The announcement comes as a shock to Amos's devoted, psychotic, homosexual fanbase, as she has all but neglected the arse-end of the world since December 1994, when she last graced the land of Crocodile Dundee on her "Under the Splink" tour. "Australia has fascinated me for a long time," reveals Amos. "I've done a lot of study on it... and my grandfather was part Aboriginal, so.. you know.. it... that is in my blood. The land is part of who I am. It's part of my body map." However, a valid question might be of the Amosian one, 'is she just not an impostor in this sunburnt country', since she has neglected it for so long? "I didn't neglect you guys," she says, cupping a jar of vegemite to her jaw (Amos suffers from a condition of her temporomandibular joint, which receives innervation from the trigeminal nerve for any budding neuroanatomists out there). "I merely didn't come because... you know.. You guys didn't quite put heat under East West Records.. even though I'm not signed to them anymore!" Amos laughs to herself before adding, "Sony are doing SUCH a great job with me now." Tori goes on, "Besides.. I also feel free to leave.. America now, finally, since Richard Kingsmill is no longer doing the J-Files in Australia... I can come and, you know, live there." Cynics have panned the Antipodean move as yet another carbon-copying of an event previously done by Kate Bush, who lived in Australia for a period when she was growing up. "I've never heard of Kate Bush," says Tori, as she demonstrates an interpretive dance in some moors that was cut from the Pretty Good Year video choreography. Tori's new single is uh..... never going to be released. "Singles aren't the done thing anymore," informs Amos. "You can get my new b-sides in chip packets now ala Tazo's. In fact we're also going to bring out some Tashos to satisfy the morbid curiosity of my fanbase." It is understood at present, however, that there has been a problem with actually opening the chip packets containing these 'goodies'.
