(Of course, when you get down to it, you're still left with bloody hard boiled eggs.) Another trick was to put two small pin pricks in an unboiled egg, blow into one, causing the insides of the egg to come out the other ... then you dye the (now empty) shell, leaving you with something that looks nice on the Easter table. I remember watching my grandma do this when I was a wittle kid, and then getting to do it at school myself. So, I guess that's what Tori means: when you finally get to assert your independence and dye those Easter eggs for yourself.
