As as is typical for autism, Tash has a limited repertoire of unusual and obsessive interests. Amongst them, Amos reports, are "filth, uncleanliness, bodily functions, diapers" and a rather unusual, if not morbid, fascination with a gaydar personality going by the name of 'filthpigmelb'! "Husband [Eric], who thinks I'm a queer but I think *he* is a queer, was looking up the gaydar site when he came across a profile he liked; that of filthpigmelb. Anyway, Eric printed out his picture, and one day accidentally left it lying around where Tash saw it. Now you can't take the blooping thing off her without her screaming endlessly at about 100 decibels.. So we gave up & made her a little mobile out of it. She has since also developed a liking for another gaydar guy, 'garbageboi'.... and she won't ever get to sleep 'less she's cuddled up with her teddybehr." Amos also revealed that daughter Tash was the inspiration behind her covering the Stranglers' "Strange Little Girl" on her 2001 covers 'album' (for want of a better term).
