Everyones entitled to their own opinion. Mine is that You Am I have gone from making music that had a vital and refreshing sound to one that is now bland and kicking its heels in a purely middle of the road kind of way. As for the Vines, well I think its pretty narrow minded of people to write them off just because they play two minute songs that sound like Nirvana. Nirvana's sound wasn't unique, in fact since the mid 80's its been a very common one, perhaps they just did it better than most...and at the right time too i guess. By the way, have you ever been a band john? If you have and you've gained any sort of exposure theres one thing you quickly learn, YOU CAN'T control your own press. Here goes I guess... 1. WHAT TIME DO YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING? In times of Uni or if I am trying to be productive I set the alarm for 7.01 am, that way I get one snooze and get up at 7.10. Being asleep is fantastic, but you are never awake to appreciate it... in that nine minutes you are half way there so you can enjoy your last few minutes of slumber properly. 2. IF YOU COULD EAT LUNCH WITH ONE FAMOUS PERSON, WHO WOULD IT BE? Josef Stalin... I would choose the restaraunt though, not interested in Russian cuisine... I think I would open the conversation with; "You've really been a right prick haven't you?" 3. GOLD OR SILVER? Silver. 4. WHAT WAS THE LAST FILM YOU SAW AT THE CINEMA? Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. It was a delightful romp, liked it better than the first one. 5. FAVOURITE TV SHOWS? Red Dwarf, The Bill, Blackadder, The Young Ones, Black Books, Simpsons, Seinfeld, Daria, Life Support, Monkey. 6. WHAT DO YOU HAVE FOR BREAKFAST? Four pieces of toast with vegemite, a glass of orange juice and an apple, or if I wake up late I just wait until lunch. 7. WHAT WOULD YOU HATE TO BE LEFT IN A ROOM WITH? An autistic hamster playing a recorder with only four different sized finger holes. 8. CAN YOU TOUCH YOUR NOSE WITH YOUR TONGUE? No, unfortunately I lack such a practical ability. 9. WHAT INSPIRES YOU? Music, empty train station platforms, driving at 4am, being sober and alone on Saturday nights... thats when your fingers find new places on the guitar for you :oP 10. WHAT'S YOUR MIDDLE NAME? I think we should all know that by now... *ahem*... 11. BEACH, CITY, Or COUNTRY? City. There are more things I hate about it than the other two, but an urban setting is a better creative environment... 12. SUMMER OR WINTER? Summer, but once again I hate more things about it, ie deadshit P platers with 20 other deadshits in their Pulsar driving around the main street in circles, tarts wearing string bikinis to the movies, the doctor, restaraunts... but I guess I can tolerate the heat alot better than the cold... 13. FAVOURITE ICE CREAM? Strawberry gelato type stuff is always good... boysenberry anything, Blue Ribbon vanilla with Milo is almost unsurpassable too... 14. BUTTERED, PLAIN, OR SALTED POPCORN? Buttered and salted. 15. FAVOURITE COLOUR? Green. 16. FAVOURITE CAR? 1992 Nissan Patrol. VK Commodore series. 17. FAVOURITE SANDWICH FILLING? Turkey breast, camembert cheese and cranberry sauce, plus all the standard salads of course. 19. WHAT CHARACTERISTICS DO YOU DESPISE? Nobility, self-confidence, sense of direction, kindness of heart... yes I know it says "despise"... 20. FAVOURITE FLOWER? Along the Central Coast line between Newcastle and Sydney you can see these fiery red flowers on like 10 or 12 foot stalks, with a huge red flower on the top... I dont know what they are but they look very cool. 21. IF YOU HAD A BIG WIN IN THE LOTTERY, HOW LONG WOULD YOU WAIT TO TELL PEOPLE? My mates Babsy, Ben or Mark... we would get drunk and know that whatever we have bought when we wake up would be what we truly wanted. 22. FIZZY OR STILL WATER AS A DRINK? Still. 23. WHAT COLOUR IS YOUR BATHROOM? I havent moved in to my new place yet... I cant remember the colour of the bathroom, yellow tiles I think, white or pale blue walls. 24. HOW MANY KEYS ON YOUR KEY RING? Four... I dont know what one of them does, its really very mysterious, came with the car... the other two open houses that arent even mine... 25. WHERE WOULD YOU RETIRE TO? Sydney's inner west... Petersham or Lewisham maybe... perhaps Lidcombe... 26. CAN YOU JUGGLE? IF YES HOW MANY? I find it difficult enough to juggle breathing and walking within my lifestyle so I have no chance with burning sticks... 27. FAVOURITE DAY OF THE WEEK? Saturday... Sunday is just as open but you cant enjoy it because you know you have no buffer zone until Monday again. 28. RED OR WHITE WINE? Red, much more classy and less likely to give me a headache. 29. WHAT DID YOU DO FOR YOUR LAST BIRTHDAY? Had a huge party at the warehouse where I was living, we dubbed it "Cuntbash," ie a bunch of cunts all coming together for a big do... I passed out five times and kept coming back... at the end of the night I found myself sitting in a chair inside being rained on, thinking I was the only person in the world who could possibly get rained on while inside the house... the roof has never leaked again since, and I have no idea how that happened to this day... 30. DO YOU CARRY A DONOR CARD? No I want more control over such things... I would hate to think somebody killed any of their organs with substance abuse then wanted one of mine to replace it... I would gladly give an organ to somebody I knew for sure was deserving though... 31. WHO DO YOU LEAST EXPECT TO SEND THIS BACK TO YOU? Nobody, since it seems everybody has mostly done it already... 32. WHO IS THE PERSON YOU EXPECT TO SEND THIS BACK FIRST Somebody who hasn't? - ----------------------- John Dooley 105 Isabella St Wingham NSW 2429 (02) 65505627 ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Jan 2003 00:47:58 +0000 (GMT) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Daniel?= Subject: [oztori] please ignore this email as i'm jetlagged. > > That your not even 16 yet, let alone 18. Silence is okay - some people need to learn this and just shut up. And stealing Nathan's response, a huge spider - heck even a little spider.
