I'm sorry, but I don't see how you could compare Natalie Imbruglia & Tori.... Um maybe you could actually: * Natalie's biggest (I could be cynical & say 'only') hit, "Torn" is nearly 'Tori'. * Natalie's first album was called "Left of the Middle", which is a term one could use to describe Tori. * Both Tori & Natalie's second albums have colours in the title - Under the Pink & White Lillies Island. * Both once had soap-inspired alter-egos - Natalie in Neighbours as Codie (? I think)... And a younger Myra-Ellen considered becoming a Sammi-Jay. * Both have been engaged to guys involved in music - Tori & Mark, and Natalie & Daniel Johns from silverchair. ...all of these brings me to the question: Tori & Natalie - separated at birth? > If anyone's heard 'Sugah', do you think there's any > trace of Tori in it > whatsoever????? DEC 2, 1994: Hey everyone I just saw Tori @ the Melbourne Concert Hall & it was awesome!!!! Setlist: - ------------ Space Dog Leather The Waitress Icicle Precious Things God Silent All These Years Take To The Sky Me and a Gun Baker Baker Cornflake Girl American Pie/Smells Like Teen Spirit Past The Mission A Case of You Winter (*you'll have to forgive me.. I didn't notice which songs were encore, 'k? 'twas the first concert I'd been to!) OMG!!! First had to endure an hour of Stephen Cummings... I remember he sung a song called "Fell From A Great Height" or something... at which point I commented to my fellow Toriphile, Alice, "if only he would!" Anyway.. Tori came on just after 8:30pm. She was wearing this red skirt thing & singlet top. "Space Dog" was the first song she played - she had this improv intro thing though, which may have been something about martians. It was pretty cool. Alice & I had tried to guess what song Tori would open with... but we never imagined it would be Space Dog. During the verses of Space Dog, this HUGE, *BRIGHT* green headlight thing was shining (everything else was pitch black.. couldn't even see Tori). It was cool. Tori then played Leather and The Waitress. She spoke to the audience for a bit before playing Icicle... something about how she met kd lang & "when she looks at you behind those glasses" it made Tori momentarily question her sexuality or something. 'twas pretty funny. Precious Things & God next came... A backing tape thing was used for God with the beats & other instruments. Then Silent All These Years came... I remember a red light beaming down on Tori as she performed this one. Ironically, during this song Alice & I got told to shut up by this bitch in the row behind us.. hehee. (I was just saying something to Alice @ the time). Take To The Sky was next... Tori would bet her right hand on the piano for the beat of this one during the verses. Then came Me and a Gun... I swear you could have heard a pin drop during this one. I think I was scared to breathe even. Baker Baker & Cornflake Girl followed - with a backing tape also being used for Cornflake Girl. American Pie/Smells Like Teen Spirit was next... and prior to hearing Tori play this, I'd not heard her covers of these songs! It took me to the "hello, hello" part of Smells Like Teen Spirit to figure out what song it was! It was amazing. Past the Mission was next, then A Case of You - a song I really love. Finally, Winter was last - a song I had been hoping to hear!!! Then the lights came on at the end and it was over. Alice and I knew that was going to be the last song. We left the concert hall barely saying a word to each other.. hehehe. Tori's performance had just 'silenced' us... Although after about 50 minutes in the car on the way back, "Trouble" by Shampoo came on & we sang to that.. lol. I can't wait till tours Australia again!* (*this last comment obviously made tongue-in-cheek as like as if she is ever gonna come here.. *sigh*) Nathan. ===== "Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music." - -- Marcus Brigstocke, British Comedian ______________________________________________________________________ Yahoo! So if I can dub it for you, can you send me those various rare amos songs on cd? I have a few other things that maybe you'd be interested in instead - a few live things & bootlegs, shows, remixes etc etc, I can check it out when I get home if you'd like & let you know. Cause it's easy enough to burn a cd for you, but i'm really unsure about the video dubbing thing. and i don't have the net at home or speakers at work, so it's no good getting mp3's of the songs cause i wouldn't be able to hear them. holly. _________________________________________________________________ Protect your PC - get McAfee.com VirusScan Online http://clinic.mcafee.com/clinic/ibuy/campaign.asp?cid=3963 ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Jan 2003 15:32:31 +1000 From: "Bindy ." Oh dear! That was a while back. I finished to class with honours, so I must have done all right though. ~Bindy Go to: http://www.livejournal.com/users/cancerian/ for Ramblings From The Moon Child _________________________________________________________________ STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Jan 2003 21:46:12 -0800 (PST) From: Nathan "®" Subject: Re: [oztori] Feel the power... feel the word... so you can make me cum on strong... LMFAO... For some reason I always get you 2 confused... Shit. I 'suffer' a similar problem with a chiropractor a friend words for.. You connect the vid you want to tape from (Audio & Video OUT) to the vid you want to record on (Audio + Video IN) and hey presto. If all is still too complicated.. you could send me the original (if you trust a) me and b) Australia Post) and I'll send it back to you once I've dubbed it. > So if I can dub it for you, can you send me those > various rare amos songs on > cd? Yeah (and before I go on any further.. this is not a "let's whore out Nayth's unofficial recording studio" YET... hang on though and it probably willl soon become that). Do you have a burner? I just made Andz 2 CD's of about 300 Tori mp3's (1 with non-LP stuff, and the other with live bootleg covers & stuff)... Them's would be easy to make. > I have a few other things that maybe you'd be > interested in instead - a > few live things & bootlegs, shows, remixes etc etc, > I can check it out when > I get home if you'd like & let you know.
