Hey everyone!!! So after freezing our asses off (seriously! my hands were blue!) waiting for 5 hours we met Tori. It was so surreal. She came out - apologising for being late saying she had "mommy stuff" to attend to and just started talking to everyone and signing things (she was in a really good mood and chatting with everyone and being silly) I got Under The Pink and Scarlets Walk signed (the slip for the album not the whole chunky cover) and spoke to her briefly :) I added in at the end of the conversation the obligatory - "we've been told to ask you by heaps of people back home to come out to australia again" and she grinned and said (in the way only she can) "well...y'know...we were JUST talking about that. I'm gonna have to see what we can do." many many many happy snaps were taken (although none with me in it...) so i'm thinking i'm gonna put that roll of film in tomorrow and see if i can get her to sign one of the photo's in London. Yay! (i have no idea why but i am so totally calm. it's very very cool!) much more will come tonight after the concert... *hugs* kate xx - -- ~*who could ever say your not simply wonderful*~ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Jan 2003 13:52:50 -0800 (PST) From: Nathan "®" Subject: Re: [oztori] I just met tori! Yeah but c'mon as if she is gonna say to your face "no way! I'm never going back to Australia!" Even Tori has to keep up her "PR". AndrewR wrote: > LOL - remember when Meatloaf went all 'cool' and > started 'dissing' Tori - > and he just about got his nads bitten off by the > entire online Tori > community?? :) Tori should cover "Survivor" by Destiny's Child in honour of that; particularly emphasising: "I'm not gonna compromise my Christianity I'm not gonna diss you on the internet 'Cause my momma taught me better dan dat!" Alas, no such email is due to come to this list from me soon. *sigh*. She sang a very happy, pop-ish song a few months back called 'Sugah'. Which I loved, I bought the single & it's playing in my car at the moment, which inspired me to check her out on the net. Anyway, I was looking on http://www.lostfrogs.com/ruby.htm and I found the passage below: "Ruby is getting rave reviews. So far she has been compared to Joan Armatrading, Tracy Chapman, Natalie Imbruglia, Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos, Jewel, and Kate Bush! (This might give you some idea of the scope of Ruby's talent!) Ruby's songs are positive and uplifting, her voice is delightful. She tells a good story. Her singing can heal you. Check out the sound samples and lyrics for this stirring debut CD of Ruby Amanfu!" If anyone's heard 'Sugah', do you think there's any trace of Tori in it whatsoever????? I didn't... 'sugah sugah come to me, i'll give ya somethin' you'll believe'... *rant* holly. _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses.
