How come Tori's severe neglect of her 'fun' song, "The Wrong Band"?! I was listening to a live mp3 of this today from '96 and 'tis great! I would have no qualms if she were to play this every night (lol I say this like I've actually been to a concert of hers in the last 8 years)... After James came some dopey chick with big frizzy hair that didn't exert much personality and didn't do it for heaps long, but they did have Dr Karl in every couple of weeks. After that came Tunny, except for a short period when Tunny was away in Europe, seeing The Wall concert from memory, when another dude did it, dunno his name but he also did "Countdown:Revolution" which was a short lived music show just before the ABC News each night just after East Enders finished up in that slot. It was a pretty bloody good show actually, I remember them dashing music clips throughout it and I also remember interviews with Frente!, The Cure and Ween as well... probably other reasonable profile artists too that would have meant nothing to me at the time... the biggest highlight of the show's run though was the cooki. I really loved the opener, with Sisko imagining the whole thing ... and I actually got chills when Ezri Dax and Sisko meet for the first time (Ezri was a great character an I hope she's one of the ones they use in the next movies with the hybrid cast) ... and there was some other nice stuff going through the last season too, but the Dominion War was alrealy collapsing under its own weight, and fizzled when it should have ended more powerfully ... the whole thing with Dukat vs Sisko was (a) too rushed; and (b) too cheesy ... I liked the complex Bajoran mythology they'd built in the first season, and it all got so watered down in the end ... but yeah, I agree that the final shot was eerie and really worked very well. Methinks they just had too much mythology to tie up. Whereas All Good Things worked because it didn't really tie up any plot, just celebrated the characters. Don't get ur hopes up re Trek XI - prolly won't happen, given how shitty Nemesis is doing box office wise.... Re the end of DS9 - i liked it! Yeah the subplot with Dukat/Sisko sucked...but the fact that he "died" at the end was good! It didn't really close off the series - left it somewhat open. I must admit, I've always preferred DS9/Voyager to TNG...TNG seemed to be too politically correct...which just irritated me beyond belief...Oooh, DS9 DVD box sets come out in the UK in Feb...so we'll get them in December most likely...altho am soo buying it when it comes out....:) > > Oh and what I said above aside, DS9 was easily the best Trek show. I don't think I could be bothered. > Voyager rocks!!! Go Janeway!!! :) Yes, they had some pretty crappy episodes (see most of Season 2 + The Gift) but when Voyager was good, it was good....they also managed to do comedy far better than the previous series (gotta love Body and Soul :)) Blah, Enterprise...whatever...altho do wanna see Shockwave Pt 2, just to see how it pans out...apparently a lot of Season 2's episodes are pretty bad....oh well.
