If anyone has video >tapes they're willing to share, I promise to love you forever (or at very >least, love you long time). > ;-) Tthe last episode was an absolute dud! You probably did see it... I can't remember what happened to the rest of the cast but Esteban and the chick got in the Golden Condor and took off in to the sunset in a very cliched fashion... that was it! Was almost as disappointing to an eight year old as Monkey, Tripitaka and co. never actually making it to India... in retrospect it was obviously just a premise to base all the individual adventures around and it didn't actually matter... but then again, Mysterious Cities of Gold was an onrunning story so there probably should have been a bit more closure :o) I have a friend who has the entire series on DivX, I can put you in touch if you want to try and work something out with her, she might be able to whack it on to video :o) The other thing from that era which must be mentioned is what I think was called "Tales From Fat Tulip's Garden." Tony Robinson ("Blackadder's" Baldrick) just wandered around a garden telling the story, describing the characters, like Fred the Baddie (purple face, big beaky nose). Kids today wouldn't have enough imagination to appreciate something like that... There was no way we were gonna switch off the ABC in David Hill's day... not as long as James Valentine was on the payroll. >You silly, silly person. Why do people eat McDonalds when they are drunk!?! >Why do people eat it at all? Not sure why its the staple drunk food, but its actively discouraged here... dunno about anywhere else but at the 24 hour Maccas here they blast classical music at earsplitting levels on Friday and Saturday nights so the maggoted clientelle don't stick around... but they still come... Maccas propaganda campaign is probably the first thing to surface to a blind mind... Subway at 2:30am Saturday morning would just cause too much confusion... cheese is cheese at times like that, regardless of Old English, Light and Tasty or whatever other description at times like that :oP Drago ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 5 Jan 2003 14:11:16 +1100 From: "Dylan Plant" Subject: [oztori] Tori DVD OK, have no idea if everyone knows this already, but was on the dent and noticed that a Tori DVD is scheduled for release this year...have no idea when tho!!! I've not heard this... but from reading yours & many others' comments on the said song, i don't think I'll be in any rush to. Tori... the only song of yours that 'works' lasting anywhere near 10 minutes is Yes, Anastasia.. (and also Datura perhaps minus 3 minutes of unnecessary 'dividing Canaan's). Oh and of course I Can't See New York - but that's 'only' 7 minutes. And D(F)ylan... Unfortunately I don't think we're going to see the Complete Videos on DVD... 'less Atlantic put out a "Greatest Hits" (sic) for Tori & do a DVD of that... although of course knowing luck, if they DO do this, it will naturally omit about half of her videos, and put them all waaaaaay outta order like on the Complete vids. While every person I asked has said that they used to love the show, so far I've only found one who remembered the last episode ... and her opinion was exactly the same as yours! Still, even when the ending sucks, it's nice to see it, just because of how much time you've invested in the damn thing (I'm thinking Seinfeld*, Star Trek: Deep Space 9** and Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman*** here). >Was almost as disappointing to an eight year old as Monkey, Tripitaka and co. never actually making it to India... I think I wanted to grow up to be just like him, so I could introduce You Can't Do That On Television! every afternoon.
