The fact that it's stuck in my head also lends credibility to that argument.. What aren't you dealing with? I had Tori sign this gem! Her exact word > when she saw the record > was "WOW!"" > > what a friggin idiot!?! why devalue it?!? I KNOW!!!!! I don't care how rare a record/whatever is.. I would NOT want to have even TORI scribble across it! hehehe. And that is such a lie that there are "only 10/less than 10" copies of Baltimore in circulation... I think it's more like 500 or so. The number ten comes from _Tori Amos Collectibles_, and was probably pretty correct for when it was published. Once it was published, however, a lot of people went digging in their attics, found the copy given to them by Ellen or Rev Amos, and sold them to a fan who was willing to pay US$600 or more for it. I'd estimate that there are around 50 in the hands of fans right now. Yeah, it's bigger than 10, but it's not that many. If I recall correctly (I'd have to dig through my email archives to check on this, and truthfully I can't be bothered right now), Dr Amos said that he had 250 of these made. /nm ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Dec 2002 10:11:24 +1000 From: AndrewR Subject: Re: [oztori] Fw: Recruiting Tori-Philes At 02:54 PM 23/12/2002 -0800, Nathan "." wrote: >Raych wrote: >I think the most 'acknowledgement' I got was once when >I wore it to a pub & some girl started talking to me & >said how good she thought Tori was... then stopped to >get some chips on the way home & the chick taking my >order wrote "guy with Tori Amos t-shirt" on the bag... >LOL. I remember reading in a Take to the Sky mag (mid 90's) about Baltimore & them saying something like "does the reported 10 in circulation include this one we've photographed here?" and "nobody really knows" about how many copies are floating around. There was a copy going on E-bay recently which claimed to have the signature of "Ellen Amos" on it! Just out of interest, Ms. Knowledgeable(sp?)-of-these-things, do you know how many copies of Precious Things (promo CD) were made.. and what about the UK Ltd Edition CD singles - ie, Cornflake Girl, SATY, Winter (UK) digipaks and Crucify Live EP?? I only know about the number of 'Baltimore' singles pressed because LBW has a - -very- good relationship with Rev Dr Amos. :) Record companies almost never release the actual number of items they produce, often because they're not really sure. As for the PT promo, it doesn't matter how many were actually -made-, since most were destroyed. Atlantic has no clue how many were sent out before the destroy order went out. /nm ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Dec 2002 18:43:56 -0800 (PST) From: Nadyne Mielke Subject: Re: [oztori] Got some spare ca$h lying around? - --- AndrewR wrote: [snip] > I wonder if Tori still has a copy? Oftentimes, she's not even sure what's currently been released. There have been several instances where a fan has given her something to be autographed and Tori has asked what it is. /nm ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Dec 2002 18:44:43 -0800 (PST) From: Nathan "®" Subject: Re: [oztori] Got some spare ca$h lying around?
