Did anyone in Brisbane feel the Earthquake on Saturday night? I did - I didn't find out that it was a 'quake until I picked up the Sunday Mail the next day - I had noted the time cause it was wierd. I thought at first it was a part of the episode of Stargate I was watching - but it was in a talky-bit. Then I thought it was a sonic boom - because it reverberated your whole body - that's when I noted the time. And for a split second I thought it was something even more awful - like a bomb or worse - and quickly flipped over to the news channels for a while. Most of them were self-involved with America - especially the insipid and Amero-centric Fox News where they SUPPOSEDLY do this: "We report- You decide" - yeah right it's more like "we'll make a lot of uninformed opinions about anything - usually concentrated on America and Americans and we'll cram it down your throat until you think what we think". Yes, so I've been in my first Earthquake - that I could feel - cause I'm sure they happen all the time and you can't feel them - like the REALLY tiny ones. The epicentre was just a suburb away!! I think it was about 3.0 on the Richter Scale. The last one in "Brisbane" - which was more like Logan - was in Acacia Ridge in 1996 and before that in 1960 at Mt. Glorius - which is West of where I am. Andrew Ooooooooh these Little Earthquakes, here we go again. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Dec 2002 01:25:31 -0800 (PST) From: Nathan "®" Subject: Re: [oztori] Triple J's Crappiest Albums of everything post-1888 Drew wrote: > Hands up who thinks Nayth is beginning to make these > 'artists' up :) I'm not.. promise! > Yeah but I don't think 1000 Oceans should have been > on that album. (not) we're on the third floor of an old university building, and the 2nd one was so loud, the walls and windows were shaking, my boss was like "youre from australia, you have earthquakes all the time, what do we do??" and i was like "erm...you get out...." so i had to evacuate the floor shitting myself thinking it was about to fall down...so much fun... it was about 3.5, but the epicentre was only down the road... rachael xxx ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 17 Dec 2002 10:04:01 +1100 From: "Rachael" Subject: RE: [oztori] pointless - -----Original Message----- From: owner-oztori@smoe.org [mailto:owner-oztori@smoe.org]On Behalf Of Nathan . Hence my advising you of the rule I did already. Supposedly using "an" is fine before ANY h you leave silent. I owed a friend $50 but when she heard about my plight she told me to keep it. :) And then today I went to pick up some printing I had done before losing my wallet (which is why I cancelled the VISA, Nathan, not because it's overdrawn. Though it would be if I still had access to it!!) and it turns out I'd already paid for all of it on Friday (with the VISA, of course) when I thought I still owed $35 on it. "Are you going to pay for it again?" the printer dude asked me. Not frickin' likely! So, I've got a little more money to play with this week than I was expecting. I've even bought food! (That plain pasta mixed with frozen peas and corn was getting a bit gross after three meals.) I'll have to check my purse, but I've already got an off-peak saver for today so if I turn up a bit late, can get there without forking out any more.
