Yeah I realised it's not as bad as I first thought after burning it onto CD & listening... My sound card is majorly fucked atm and hence magnifies the crappiness of things 10-fold usually. > It's pretty infrequent but what > pisses me off about these people is that they are > cheering, for what appears to be no reason.. Then in Lovesong from the same concert they start screaming again after the first chorus... Why? Did Tori get her tits our or something? Worse still.. I hate when the audience cheers loudly the second Tori starts to play a song... (which at that point they usually obviously know what it is going to be).. and then they start cheering *AGAIN* really loudly after she sings the first line!!! I don't see the logic. Yeah that is strange isn't it - both songs from the same concert - one would assume they were recorded by the same person in the same spot etc.. yet there is a very noticeable diff. in sound quality. If I were Tori, I'd slam shut > the lid of the piano, and say, "listen you guys, I'm > trying to play for you.. now shut the fuck up!" Like Tori getting mad at the "Lady in the White Shirt"! :) I think the first lot of screams are the Tori-snobs who are trying to show-off that they know which song it is from the first note or first "yes - I said"... It's really funny when the dicks do it for the improvs or covers... they clearly won't know what the song is - but they do it to "look cool". I reckon there is this whole subliminal competition between these annyoing fans at the concerts - sort of like those arguments when you are in primary school... "I did that first"/"well I did it last week"/"I did it last YEAR"/"I did it before I came to school!"/"well I did it before I could talk"/"well I did it before I was born!" Then the second wave of cheerings are the not-so-snobbish fans who think they can impress with their knowledge of the lyrics*. *this group also contains the first-line of Tori-snobs, people who genuinely are cheering for a song they like, and those who mouth the lyrics and get them incorrect like on the RAINN video! :) There is a third wave of screamings - this is from some of the members of the first two 'waves' but also contains those who only really know Tori's choruses - so look towards songs like "Cornflake Girl" or "Caught a Lite Sneeze" for these fans. There are also extreme members of the first group who reappear in this third group to impress that they like Tori so much that screaming half-way through will remind Tori personally that they like her music - LOTS! There is a rare 4th and perhaps 5th group. The 4th are the ones that just scream randomly or who scream at inappropriate times (these being either complete nutters who rattle Tori to actually stop playing and see if said 'screamer' is OK. (I have this on an mp3 somewhere). Or they are again extreme Tori-snobs who think that screaming at intermittant periods will show their utter devotion to this artist. Generally this 4th group are complete wacko's who need a good slap. The seldom heard 5th group is exemplified in Tori's "Little Drummer Boy". They actually provide a rather humourous or cleverly timed 'outburst'. During a split second pause by Tori in the middle of a line - - one can hear a "Hey Tori!" - which is either really annoying or quite funny as it's well placed and has now made itself a part of the track "Little Drummer Boy"**. ** Can be heard on the More Pink album. Any others!?! The only other suggest I can think of is that Tori attracts a lot of restless spirits or perhaps screaming banshees, or even one or two perpetual orgasmers!?! :) :) 1.5 hours left of my Birthday. You're 'zactly right Andz. When you think about it, WTF is the point of 'screaming' anyway? I wonder if some psychological/sociological study has been done on this phenomenon (Henry?). Besides, I can't actually scream anyway :( > Then the second wave of cheerings are the > not-so-snobbish fans who think > they can impress with their knowledge of the > lyrics*. ..and then in the process they effectively drown out Tori for 5+ seconds.... when the whole point of her concerts is going to *hear* her play. I wonder how many screams 'Sister Named Desire' would get if Tori ever played it. Then we'd KNOW that they were screaming not becase they were excited & actually LIKED the song... but rather, jut to be dicks. > *this group also contains the first-line of > Tori-snobs, people who > genuinely are cheering for a song they like, and > those who mouth the > lyrics and get them incorrect like on the RAINN > video! :) omg those girls on that vid look like dicks. Generally this > 4th group are complete wacko's who need a good slap. I think about 99% of Tori's audience needs a good slap. I think that would be like my dream job... To stand at the door and slap ppl on the way out for being dicks during the concert. > The seldom heard 5th group is exemplified in Tori's > "Little Drummer > Boy". They actually provide a rather humourous or > cleverly timed > 'outburst'. Mmmmmmm I beg to differ here. I think that "hey Tori" woman sounds rather occa-ish (if they have those in the US)... and I picture her having a fag in her moccassins @ the concert.. and randomly tuning in when she heard that line & just went "hey Tori". Like the kind of person @ a children's football match (er not that I've ever been to one in my life) who yells out "hey [insert kid's name].. That's the way"! for 'encouragement' or something.
