I got my iBook last week and it's just fabulous...*ahhhh* I'll have the internet connected within a couple of weeks with the super fast ADSL connection. It's been very painful searching for a decent Japanese net provider and being able to communicate with them. But it's all peaches (for now). Anyway, here's some Tori content for ya! I remember someone saying that they liked how Tori says 'coffee' on Wednesday, and I was thinking the same thing, only it was 'station'! Both of them are very cutely pronounced. I've also been listening to ScWk (my new abbreviation so as not to confuse the Star Wars fans) with headphones a lot, but the other day I switched to speakers. I noticed that in Sweet Sangria, Tori does these cool 'haunting' sort of 'ooohooo's. Anyone else notice that? I don't know why I didn't notice it with my headphones... Oh, you might notice the 'oooo's at about 1:31 and 3:02 Andrew!!! I'm so glad you found the moment to listen to ScWk! I thought Tori might actually get to Australia before then! Nice work. Melbournites: I miss Melbourne so much and I'd love to meet up, it's just that being in Tokyo makes it a wee bit muzakashi ('difficult'). You go on one of those Restaurant trams and have them put on ScWk while you meander around the city! I heard they're pretty pricey though... Getting hungry now, so I'll be off. But, I wanted to cry when I read that Tori performed 'Space Dog' the other night. I think it could possibly be my fave Tori song. Live, especially. When she opens with the backing vocals at the end, it's just so...incredibly beautiful. delicate (for want of better adjectives) I can't wait for that Live DVD to come out... Ta ta for now chickens, Helen xo 'pluck up the courage and snap it's gone again...' P.S: what are people's fave quotes from ScWk? _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 with e-mail virus protection service: 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/virus ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Nov 2002 20:18:07 -0800 (PST) From: Nathan "®" Subject: Re: [oztori] Stop for a cOffee Helen Theodoridis wrote: > Anyway, here's some Tori content for ya! > I remember someone saying that they liked how Tori > says 'coffee' on > Wednesday, Yeah I like how she says 'coffee' on that too. > and I was thinking the same thing, only > it was 'station'! I don't think she's done that on any of her other songs... so why start now?! (*similarly, this emphasis of the vocalic 'r' ruins Madonna's "The Power of Goodbye" where she goes on about the lesson she had to "leaRRRRRRRn", buRRRRn, yeaRRRRn, et. al. It sounds revolting.) > I've also been listening to ScWk (my new > abbreviation so as not to confuse > the Star Wars fans) Maybe, but now it looks like a "Social Worker" abbrev. :) > Ta ta for now chickens, *gets a taste o' your meat* > P.S: what are people's fave quotes from ScWk? Mine: "feel better with Oliver Stone till I almost smacked him, seemed right that night" is prob'ly my fave. Also: "you think you deserve a trust fund, just because you want one, so you talk the talk when you need to, I feel the whole world is starting to believe you" and "first let's just unzip your religion down" and "you give me yours, I give you mine, 'cause I can look your God right in the eye" Nathan. ===== "They don't expect boys to pretend to be nice, but they do with girls, and I'm not a nice person!" - Siobhan Fahey. _______________________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Heheheh - that would probably mean I'd have never have listen to ScWk! :) Nice Abbrev. Btw... All though It looks either like Social Work or Suck Week! :) What about ScWa - close to Nathan's beloved Schwa! :) SkaWalk - I'll bight anyone's EAR off if they DARE try that abbreviation! :) > P.S: what are people's fave quotes from ScWk? I love how they use the same footage over and over (the people pointing from the car on the overpass; the cemetery footage) and blatantly steal clips from other films to pad out the movie without even really trying to integrate them into the story (okay, they do try, but the attempt is so pitiful it's hilarious). I only wish more movies could be as "bad"! Tori content: nope. :-) Jules - --------------------------------- Yahoo! Hint Dropper - - Avoid getting hideous gifts this Christmas with Yahoo!
