I don't mind the song actually. It's different for a change. I love when Tori goes "sister, start the engine!" Does anyone here know the song "Happy Nation" by Ace of Base? (the follow-up flop to "All That She Wants" in 1993) - the "Happy Nation" bit in the chorus is almost identical to the "Happy Workers" chorus in The Happy Worker. Which begs the question... Who copied who? The Ace of Base one came out later here, but I think was possibly released O/S in '92. The Happy Woker came from the Toys soundtrack, which came out in Jan '93 or thereabouts (? Oct '92 in the US).. although it says it was 'published in 1991' I think on the CD. Although Tori didn't write The Happy Worker.. and I'm guessing recordered it pre-LE's release, when she was in the UK.. as she may have "needed some ca$h to help pay the rent". I think New Age, up until when the chorus builds up, must be one of Tori's most lazy vocal performances ever. When she sings "waiting for the phone to ring, diamond necklace on my shoulder", I conjure up an image of her literally standing in the studio staning by a phone, half-reading a newspaper, wearing a diamond necklace, and eating cereal as she sings it - with the manner in which she gives her vocal 'delivery'. Download stuff on people's recommendations, or on having followed some link from some other link to a review in which some band or member of same is mentioned as sounding half-interesting... and then I close Kazaa and forget that the mp3s are even there in the downloads directory. Occasionally I get the urge to clear out the downloads directory (when too many people are leeching off my computer whenever I log on!), and then its contents get turfed into my mp3 directory.... all ready for me to stumble across them some other time and think "Hmm, 'Idiot Waltz'... that's an interesting name for a song; I wonder what it is?" How about we poll our most favourite (available) Live MP3's/tracks that are out there (that people have) and work out the track order, and then burn them and send them round to each other!?! It'd make up for the WOEFUL Still Orbiting and Tori's lack of presence. I had the idea listening to that version of Doughnut Song (where she sings the backing vocals). That is so cool. The Musique Plus performance (which I don't have the inbetween interview bits - I think Dan Hirning (where ever he has gone) had them or was it Lil Dan? - they were planning to do an interview disc). But there are a lot of good performances out there - and I'm sure most of us have them - and we could do this CD. How about it. My first selection is Donought Song - you all have to experience the awesomeness of this mp3! Yeah - not every track will be clean and clear (not the annoying ad) - but that will be part of the charm of it! :-) And then once it's assembled - someone can do a 'master disc' i.e. someone who knows how to line everything up nicely. someone could even design the front cover. Then it's a simple matter of a CD tree thingy. I think we should include the oztori logo on the front at least - cause we went to all that trouble how long ago now? Anyway - discuss. I'm slowly looking through them I found that MP3 gain program which can equalise mp3 level sounds someone reccommended like back in September! :) What the fuck does Exact Audio Copy do? I've got it - and don't like the look of it - so It's uninstalled until I found out what to use it for? I guess it's just a CD burner program? But I have NeroBurn - why did I downnload that? Does it do other things? Thinking... Thinking... Does it convert CD files to mp3s? but doesn't nero do that - or is that only the otherway? Zac? Anyone? Andrew "Not tonight Josephine From here, you're haunting me By the Seine, oh so Beautiful Only not, to be of use" Gawd I love that song.
