OK, I have a comment to make on the Jasmine thing in this "article" below: - ------------------------------------------------------- November 8, 2002: TORI AMOS, hit singer of "Professional Window", "Caught Alight's Knees" and "Wuthering Heights" is being sued of almost everything she is worth by the bitter Jonceski family in New South Wales, Austria. Amos first ran into trouble with the Jonceski family when she used some of the family members' copyrighted names without permission on the lyrics to her new CD, "Scarlett's Wank". "It actually began earlier than that," froths 19 year-old Jasmina (preferred name "Jaz") from her Canberra Uni student accomidation pad. "Tori was stealing from my family when she had originally titled the song 'Juarez' as "Jonceski" on her 1999 album, To Venus and Back". So infuriated with Amos was Jaz, that she immediately sought legal advice from her family solicitor, Julian Pinder. Pinder's legal threats enticed Amos to back-down, and re-title the song in question. The straw that broke the camel's back, however, was a lyric on a song on Amos's new CD, titled "Another Girl's Paradise". The line in question reads, "Jasmine foxed me in her grove". Jonceski has alluded that the line makes a mockery of her Christian name, Jasmina, and that Amos is trying to 'seek revenge' through implying that Jaz is nowt but a power-hungry fox who tried to place Amos down in a grove. This lyrical suggestion has waged an ugly war of words and writs between the two bombshells. Jaz's sister, Valintina, is also seeking legal advice over the matter; alleging that Amos had originally titled her 1999 song 'Concertina' as "Valentina"; and that Amos is at it once again with the song "Virginia" on her new album, which bares an uncanny resemblance aesthetically and phonetically to 'Valentina'. "Tori sings 'oh Virginia, you can't remember your name' on that song", says Valintina, "which is making a mockery of my ever-diminishing memory (Valentina was diagnosed with Alzheimer's last year). Well I *CAN* remember my name Tori! Unlike you who would rather forget your *real* name!" 2002 has not been a good year for the Jonceski family. Valentina recently lodged an unsuccessful appeal for a restraining order against a Mr. Nathan R who she accuses of stalking her. A magistrate is due to hear the case in court next Monday. - ------------------------------------------------------- Nathan. ===== "They don't expect boys to pretend to be nice, but they do with girls, and I'm not a nice person!" - Siobhan Fahey. _______________________________________________________________________ U2 on LAUNCH - Exclusive greatest hits videos http://launch.yahoo.com/u2 ------------------------------ End of oztori-digest V2 #327 ****************************
