Well surely (hopefully) some bright spark will make available mp3's of whatever 'additional songs' are available on Scarlet's Web so that we can listen to them on CD and not have to fricking be online every time we want to listen to them (well presuming they rae good enough that we actually do WANT to listen to them :P). I don't really care for any 'special extra multimedia stuff' Scarlet's Web may have to offer - as I prefer my Tori without the free figurines/discarded body parts/set of cutlery to 'enhance' the listening experience. I think the whole idea is dumb myself - why DON'T they cram the 'extra stuff' onto CD & try to sell it? > Maybe it's a good time to restate my protest on the > "extensive credits" > for the album being left out of the booklet and > instead stuck on a web > site where they'll vanish as soon as the corporation > demands a redesign > :) 'twould be interesting if they left the copyright off the CD booklet & just placed it on the web - hehhe then when the site goes down, people will be able to legitimately plagiarise stuff from Tori. Both have the CD and DVD packaged in a keepsake box with a fold-out map/lyric sheet, stickers and "polaroids", but the US/European disc comes with additional "polaroids" and a trinket, not found in the UK package. According to the description of the Ltd Ed SW at sonymusic.com.au, it is the pared-down UK version that we will be getting (although they could be wrong in their description, as usual). If she does, you sure wouldn't know it by going to a record store. I was at Burwood and Macquarie Centre today running errands (ugh), and I popped into all the various music selling type places (in the hope that someone got SW early, despite the "delay" ... yes, I'm sad, okay?). And of the dozen plus places I went to, I saw only two indications that Tori even had a new album coming out. The first was a poster of all the new Sony albums, with a small picture of the SW cover (at Angel at Club Maq), and the other was a tiny "new release - 'Scarlet's Walk'" card amongst the Tori CDs at HMV Burwood (so you'd have to be looking for Scarlet's Walk to find it). It's not surprising that, at the party I was at last night, this person (a friend of a friend) who turns out to be a Tori fan (enough so to have actually bought SLG -- and she said FTCH was one of her very favourite CDs) didn't know Tori was releasing a new CD. And, despite this total lack of promotion, when this CD tanks, what's the bet Sony is going to turn around and blame Tori for being commerically unviable. Even though people who would buy the album don't even know it exists. Tori HERSELF has been a bit of a pain-in-the-a(r)s(s)(e) about the whole thing too: with the glued CD's, and saying that those ppl who download mp3's are "parasites". And Tori is to blame especially for any lack of Australian success (though it's likely she couldn't really care less [or "could care less" for any Denters reading] about any success or failure here), since she's not graced our shores on her last FOUR (count 'em) tours. > Sony better have oodles of posters and what not > together with their CD shipment. Well Tori's CD's (bar Little Earthquakes) have all peaked on the charts in their first week here. So if SW doesn't make an 'impressive' debut, it's not likely that it will rise either.
