Yeah, probably a printing error, but assuming they didn't really mean 2200, I can't think of a date they could have meant that wouldn't still be quite disturbing. I bought the doughnut in question in the second week of *January* 1999. Even if they meant 2000 and not 1999, that thing still had enough preservative to keep it alive and kicking for a whole year. Most donuts are past their prime in a few hours of emerging from the bubbling grease, and are well on their way to being fungus farms by the end of the week. All I can think of is, after Gaia finally tells us to "get out of [her] garden", some alien intelligence will try to construct the hideous truth of our sordid civilization by means of the perfectly preserved doughnut in my stomach. I don't get this whole "you absolutely cannot buy the album until we say that it is the release date" bollocks. if record companies really wanted to make money why not have two phase album releases? the first occurs a month or more before the real release date and it's a hideously over-priced copy of the final album, only difference is you're getting it a month before everyone else - i know i'd pay. then a month later the general release occurs and to make sure they maximise their profits, the company prints in tiny, tiny little writing in the bottom left corner of page 19 of the cd booklet, almost obscured by a picture of a heart shaped penis, the words "second release" - so that completeist FREAKS (you all know who you are :P) will buy the same album a second time. the record companies no longer have to suffer the slings and arrows of rabid fans, and their ulcers clear up, and they suddenly realise that ninety nine percent of the records they print are !!TIHS and only act to prolong the earth's suffering, and then they all promise not to release any more Nsync albums, and instead go and help clear landmines in Bolivia, and free caged bears, and help old people with their shopping, and uh eat wagon wheels. >>>that had a use-by date of 2200. That is a FANTASTIC photo. Been staring at it for minutes. Its got great mood to it. Photography is about rules and when to break them. Photographers usually do not shoot in direct sunlight, they prefer cloudy days. The differences in light levels on a sunny day makes photos look harsh plus traditional slide film cannot hold all the detail because of the extreme differences in light level. But the photographer in this instance used this flaw to create an excellent mood in the image. The deep shadows, especially Tori's, are marvelous and I love Tori's pose as well.
