I said I didn't have a contact no for them, and the mutual friend has gone OS for three months and is uncontactable. Sorry. They lyrics are great. I love it! So very Tori. * Strange is beautiful, and heartbreaking (esp the "now I'm finally here, the party has begun" part, for some reason). * Virginia is wonderful (esp the "sunwise to clockwise" bit), and I think it will keep growing on me. * Carbon will become a favourite. I love the "get Neil on the line; no, I can't hold!!" bit. And the "carbon made only wants to be unmade" bit. * She better learn how to play Wednesday live by the tour, 'cause even the little snippet sounds great. * Pancake is so much more powerful live. * So is Crazy. * Mrs Jesus needs more time to grow on me. First off, the whole album is very good, by far and away much better than SLG. As Dan said and I agree its a very mellow album....lyrics and music fit together very well, its almost an album you'd put on to chill out...both of us forgot to print out the track listing, so the only song either of us knew was ASF lol. Second, there were giveaways of the album promised - didn't happen. Not Happy Jan!!!!!!!! Altho he did play a lot of Tori that nite (not including SW) so I was happy, got to dance to Blue Skies again...hehehehe and Silence.... Any questions to the usual address! Dylan PS Dan, I knew I should have tried to talk that cute guy (the one from the start of the nite who sat opposite us) oh well..... - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rebecca Appleton" To: Sent: Saturday, October 19, 2002 8:05 PM Subject: Re: [oztori] The RadioUno Italy live mp3s (spoilers) > On Sat, 19 Oct 2002 08:05:07 +1000 (EST), Julian P wrote: > >If you still haven't yet, and you want to hear, go to > >hereinmyhead.com. Well... What can I say... I like the album! :) The evening started meeting Dylan outside work at 7, and we trundled off to Pizza Hut for the works... what they ailed to mention though, was the soft serve was out of order, so, it was the works minus soft serve, which realy isn't the works at all. Many interesting stories were shared over dinner. We won't go there. Headed off to Club UK, and it was quite empty when we got there. It soon filled up, but most of the night was spent lounging on a red velvet couch sipping beers and talking about various Tori songs and video clips. The album itself (although listening to it in a pub is not the best way to listen to it) was very mellow... some a capalla'ish bits in their, but overall quite good :) We didn't have a track listing so couldnt differentiate the different songs. Lots of other Tori goodness was played... its refreshing to hear songs *other* than Pro Widow remix played loud, and in a club. Dylan's request of Blue Skies was played, along with lots ot other music including PJ, Garbage, Pink also a bit of Sarah Mac! One thing against the evening was the 'stacks of giveaways'... We left at 12 (for public transport reasons) and had not seen hide nor hair of one giveaway... much dissapointed. Can't wait for the album to come out! :) That is all! I've decided that I am 'not' listening to the tracks not on the 6-track promo till the album cumz out. Having said that, I did listen to the Wednesday/Cooling one - although that's not strictly cheating since it hardly contains any of Wednesday. A few 'select coments' on what I've heard thusfar: 1) ASF - it just goes to show that Tori's piano playing in some of this new stuff is not *nearly* as dynamic and complex as it once was. Having said that, I do like it still. 2) Pancake - wow I think this is much more 'powerful' just solo piano than the studio version with the wurly or whatever TF it is. 3) Wednesday/Cooling - when TF is she going to get over 'cooling'. Yes 'twas a nice song, but overkill much? And it just doesn't have the same impact without the fab "do I hate what she is" extra verse. Which also brings me to the comment.. I don't know why everyone (read US denters for "everyone) nearly creams themselves when they hear Tori is going to be touring with the band/Caton/whatever.. I much prefer my live Tori solo, with a few exceptions (mebbie the brill Precious Things plugged). Julian-drews P-eesStandingUp wrote: > * Pancake is so much more powerful live.
