The thing that really made me sign about news these days was on 10's news tonight, they had something about Glynnis Nunn (I really should know how to spell her name properly) in anguish or something or other. Her daughter in law was seriously injured in the blast. But never mind the rest of the family, it was Glynnis Nunn that we should all think about. As for the footballers, when it comes to the national teams, I can well and truly understand the coverage on them (as far as any members still unaccounted for or identified as dead), considering that their fanbase is probably scattered all over the country, and thus it is of interest to a lot of people. Yes, as a whole teh story is of interest to the whole country, but when you break it down to individuals, if you're not in the limelight then it's better for people to find out through friends and relatives how they are, but it's not so logical for the football clubs to field millions of calls (although they probably are getting a stack anyway). That's ok - I've narrowed it down to Fox News being one absolutely clown-news Amero-centric news station. Bah! CNN and BBC World are now devoting much more time to the story... but until the reality of the death toll became apparent, they weren't really covering - at one time there was John Travolta on CNN and Last week's highlights on BBC World. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 Oct 2002 22:29:48 +1000 From: "AndrewR" Subject: RE: [oztori] Why Tori Should Only Tour Australia (WARNING: contains maths) > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-oztori@smoe.org [mailto:owner-oztori@smoe.org] On Behalf Of > Julian P > Sent: Monday, 14 October 2002 1:45 PM > To: oztori@smoe.org > Subject: [oztori] Why Tori Should Only Tour Australia (WARNING: contains > maths) > > Daniel Nolan wrote: > >7 million albums sold worldwide (250,000 in Australia) > Okay. Anyone hear about the two people who were right out the front when the bomb went off - and they were thrown like 20 feet and were probably saved cause they were covered in bodies/corpses and had to push them of themselves to get up!! It was such a cold and calculated attack... they set one bomb off across the street - so everyone in the other night club would have rushed out onto the street where the second, larger bomb was waiting... :| Andrew ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 Oct 2002 22:47:52 +1000 From: "AndrewR" Subject: RE: [oztori] Why "No'Tori'ous A" Should Only Tour Australia (WARNING: contains moths) > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-oztori@smoe.org [mailto:owner-oztori@smoe.org] On Behalf Of > Rebecca Appleton > Sent: Tuesday, 15 October 2002 8:46 AM > To: oztori@smoe.org > Subject: RE: [oztori] Why Tori Should Only Tour Australia (WARNING: > contains maths) > > On Mon, 14 Oct 2002 22:38:17 +1000, AndrewR wrote: > >tour here really soon. I'm gonna let her off the hook on this one, myself: the bit about the line being written as part of another song means there's nothing to say she's lying. There was, after all, supposed to be a song called "Just another dead fag", or something similar, right? Sounds like it got incorporated into 'Taxi Ride', rather than just re-named 'Taxi Ride' as we assumed. ~Becc :) - -- www.crappism.org ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Oct 2002 08:04:14 +0100 (BST) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Audrie=20Tiong?= Subject: RE: [oztori] Vote NOW! Yeah you know me! (lol.. amazingly ON topic!) The mp3 of OPP (Operation Peter Pan ;) is avaiable now at http://www.hereinmyhead.com/sounds/index.html under the "SW" section, if anyone cares. Ironic how its initials are OPP (as in "Other People's Property" - Naughty By Nature song from 1991 which didn't 'break' here till early '92) - as Kate Bush also has a 'peter pan' song (In Search of Peter Pan, 1978) which has a "second star on the right, straight on till morning" section. Nayth's opinion of OPP thusfar: 'thas the numb, lower-pitched vocals of SLG during the verses, and a dash of Kate Bush in the latter "straight on till morning" part of the chorus. ?? sounds odd just hearing Tori's vocals with an acoustic guitar.
