Reading through the lyrics to the SW promo songs, I realise that: Taxi Ride: - ---------- "we've all been pushed too far" is not 'we've all been foolish too far' "and I'm down to your last cigarette" is not 'and down to your life's surrender' "this 'we are one' crap as you're invading" is not 'we all won't cry as you're moving in' "i'm glad you're on my side" is not 'I blame it on myself'/'I blame it on Marcel' ;) Gold Dust: - ----------- "through the eyes of Laura Mars" is not 'through the eyes of lovermores (?)' Amber Waves: - ------------- "immersed in his sepia" is not 'immersed in his CPR' (cardiopulmonary recuscitation) Crazy: - -------- "so I let Crazy" is not 'so a little crazy' Pancake: - ----------- "we both know you could deflate a 7 hurricane" is not 'we both you know you could deflate a (something) novacaine' "I believe in defending what we once stood for" is not 'I believe in the friend thing, what we - once in vogue' "that has lodged in my vortex" is not 'that has lodged in my foot tower' I blame it on Tori's increasingly poor enunciation & the crappy-esque quality of the leaked mp3's. I don't think it's the mp3s, and I don't think her enunciation is becoming any worse ... she's *always* had rather, um, unique enunciation. Only a few weeks ago, did I find out that she was saying "in the street take it" and not "in the straightjacket", and I must have heard BQ *thousands* of times. And it was only last year or the year before that I learned that it was "hand me a trick and a kick" and not "hand me a cake and a drink". And don't get me started on "how many fates turn around in the Ovaltine". Still, I really like her odd way of twisting and stretching words. It's part of her charm. Besides, we have published lyrics for most of the songs. J - --------------------------------- Yahoo! Gosh Tori musta been using a lot of nasal resonance (& cocaine) to get that sure-fire 'n' sound there that's not supposed to be (according to the "official" lyrics). > And don't get me started on "how many fates > turn around in the Ovaltine". > Still, I really like her odd way of twisting and > stretching words. It's part of her charm. Besides, > we have published lyrics for most of the songs. Mmmmmmm but they're not all correct. I don't have the "Lyrics" book, so I ain't consulted it.. but in the BFP sheet music book it says "he's getting an A to Z" in Agent Orange, when she clearly says "B" not Z. *amazed at all the actual 'Tori content' of late* Nathan. ===== "They don't expect boys to pretend to be nice, but they do with girls, and I'm not a nice person!" - Siobhan Fahey. _______________________________________________________________________ Faith Hill - Exclusive Performances, Videos & More http://faith.yahoo.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 5 Oct 2002 20:45:15 +1000 From: "AndrewR" Subject: RE: [oztori] Neighbours (everybody needs good neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiighhhhhhhbours) [OT, obviously] > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-oztori@smoe.org [mailto:owner-oztori@smoe.org] On Behalf Of > Nathan . > Sent: Saturday, 5 October 2002 12:25 PM > To: oztori@smoe.org > Subject: Re: [oztori] Neighbours (everybody needs good > neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiighhhhhhhbours) [OT, obviously] > > Julian P wrote: > > > >I also hit a boy down the street over the head with > > a > > >frying pan "just to see what would happen".. lol. > Or Marianne: > > "Quickest boy hit by the frying pan" ;) > > > Nathan. Tori, Nathan AND Simpsons reference in one... "Frying Dutchman" - the seafood restraunt that the old sailor ran - it was all you could eat... and Homer one a court case against them - because they didn't let him eat... "all he could". Homer and Marge then went around Springfield looking for more all you can eat restraunts and then ended up fishing for more fish to eat. :) Fucking stupid neighbours now - the little prick jock wanker (a new family moved in after the 'dodgey' neighbours moved out.) - is playing music REALLY REALLY loud. CRAP music too (isn't it always the way). He seems to have 'friends' around and his parents must be out. Little wanker. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 5 Oct 2002 04:08:23 -0700 (PDT) From: Nathan "®" Subject: RE: [oztori] Neighbours (everybody needs good neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiighhhhhhhbours) [OT, obviously] AndrewR wrote: > "Frying Dutchman" - the seafood restraunt that the > old sailor ran - it > was all you could eat... and Homer one a court case > against them - That's an interesting spelling 'faux pas' using 'one' for 'won' - I did that the other day on here, but nobody noticed (or commented.. or, more likely, even read the e-mail in the first place :) > Fucking stupid neighbours now - the little prick > jock wanker (a new > family moved in after the 'dodgey' neighbours moved > out.) - is playing > music REALLY REALLY loud. A bunch o'teenz usedta live across the road from me & had *really* loud parties on occasion (the kind where you can *feel* the bass @ your place). Even had one when I was studying for mid year 12 exams.. which, wasn't such a bad distraction really. Tori content - Mr Jim was Tori's favourite neighbour of them all. I know the scanning of the cover(s) didn't look FANTASTIC - but it was a first. Now you can relax with such classics as "Girls just wanna have fun", "She Bop", "Money Changes Everything", "Time After Time", "True Colors", "Who let in the Rain" and "All Through the Night". :) Andrew ------------------------------ End of oztori-digest V2 #288 ****************************
