I noticed on that list of charting singles that if a group or an artist had a REALLY big hit - then I'm guessing (the second/follow-up) rated highly - probably as flow-over from the first single's success. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Sep 2002 08:46:38 -0700 (PDT) From: Nathan "®" Subject: Re: [oztori] 1992 Roozi riot poofter wrote: > anyone else note that the highest position for > "winter" was the same as for > martika's "coloured kisses", her least successful > single? > > scary. > > scary. Winter actually peaked at #49 on the ARIA charts. These charts listed are not really 'official' - although, yes, it would be cool if Winter really did get to #34. I think you should go Dan. Anyone who can should go and see her anywhere but in Australia because this news still doesn't sound like tour news. Maybe a one-off show, but for some reason the chances of a few shows around the country seem unlikely. And there is no actual time given other than 'some point in 2003' so who knows what or when anything should take place. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Sep 2002 20:43:17 -0700 (PDT) From: Nathan "®" Subject: RE: [oztori] Set your privates to orgasm AndrewR wrote: > She can't come now... it's too long. Well I haven't been in tune with Tori-land the last few days, and don't really know exactly WHERE these 'Tori may be doing something in Oz in 2003' stories have come from (yes, I know the Dent.. but who/what first stated the info)... so how 'credible' are they really? Even Tori herself said in interviews early '96 that she was gonna come here for the DDI tour, and nope. Then I remember the Herald-Sun "news"paper in Melbourne (no, I don't read it) saying that she was gonna be here in early '99, but nope. I like the "guuuuuuuuuuuurl", but the "heeeeeee" pisses me off. I'll tell y'all a possible reason why she may do it (?) - you can sing the same note on an "ee" vowel (the most forward vowel in the mouth), and it sounds higher pitched than the same note on an "oo" vowel (the most back vowel in the mouth) - although they are actually the same not. ie - maybe Tori does it to compensate for the fact that she can't hit those high notes so well any more (witness "you bet your life it is" and "I could have, I should have, I could have flown" and "You can say it one more time" all sung an octave lower than on record). Maybe. But I've also noticed she pronounces half of her short 'e' vowels (as in 'yes') as 'ee's too - eg. "yees" for yes.. which is downright iritating when used ad nauseum. Where did you get this from ("apologies" > - > I've not really checked the net the last few days). it was a joke! "4:33" (or whatever its called, i still can't remember) is John Cage sitting at a piano performing silence for exactly four minutes and thirty three seconds (or however long it happens to be). has page turns and everything. of course, should tori actually release it as a b-side or perform it in concert, you can all bow down and worship me as some sort of god if you like. or not. xo dan ===== I want a table - no, just for one. I don't think he ever actually performed it, I think he simply composed it (the sheet music has times for turning the pages etc.) in honour of Tori's new tour I'm making bootlegs of the Australian leg of her SLG, TVAB, 5+1/2 Weeks, ChoirGirl & DDI tours - you can get the whole set (every single show!!) on one CD for $5, AND you even get the Dan Gee and Tori play "4.33" on twin Bosendorfers track (a very rare track that she has only ever performed to her adoring fans here in Australia). hurry! stocks are limited and I have to use the same tape for the new tour, so I will only have a copy of the previous shows for a short while. remember: tori is possibly, almost, veryhopeful, wewouldloveto, it'salltherecordcompany'sfault, ifonlyIcouldfindthetime, ohI'mDEFINITELYgoingto, wellIhopeso, ohforsureI'mtouringthistime, youbetchaboots"Maate", wellifIcanfindthetime, noIhateyoualldownthere, touring this time - so order now!! ennui [ can I get a lift with you to the next meeting, Nathan? :) ] _ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Sep 2002 23:48:48 -0700 (PDT) From: Nathan "®" Subject: RE: [oztori] Julian's Big List o' Tori Questions [Part 1] ennui wrote: > in honour of Tori's new tour I'm making bootlegs of > the > Australian leg of her SLG, TVAB, 5+1/2 Weeks, > ChoirGirl & > DDI tours - You forgot the YKTR tour (the whole one show they played). > it'salltherecordcompany'sfault, So much for Tori being "not a cop-out either".
