OK, I'll bite... firstly, I'd like your evidence that her photos are "doctored". If you mean that they are given special effects in Photoshop to look interesting, I don't see the problem. But if you're trying to say that her photos are deliberately airbrushed to hide imperfections... that is a statement that needs some evidence (like "I've been carrying on a secret affair with her for the past decade--Tori likes her toyboys--and I know every wrinkle & freckle & I can tell you she's actually got a face like a shaved scrotum that's been soaking in the bath for 5 hours") And it's equally annoying that a "strong" woman is supposed to renounce her femininity & not be sexually attractive--which seems to be what you are implying. She said something along the lines of 'of course they put my pics into a computer and alter them'. Tori was kinda 'au natruel' around LE & UTP eras - ie, minimal make-up etc. But since BFP where she hired a designer, has tarted up the make-up, et al... Not saying she doesn't look "good", but it's a bit silly to think that she is above airbrushing. In some of her pics - like the one on the mattress in Q magazine accompanying their Boys for Pele review in '96, her moles & things around her neck/chest look obvious - yet they are concealed in other photos of her. > (like "I've been carrying on a secret > affair > with her for the past decade--Tori likes her > toyboys--and I know every wrinkle & freckle & I can > tell you she's actually got a face like a shaved > scrotum that's been soaking in the bath for 5 > hours") In fact I think I'd rather 'warts and all' Tori than doctored Tori. You only have to look at most of the photos from the TVAB era to see how awful she can look when she's 'overdone'. > And it's equally annoying that a "strong" woman is > supposed to renounce her femininity & not be > sexually > attractive--which seems to be what you are implying. Wrong, wrong, wrong again. I thought the whole point of a university education was to make one consider all sides of an argument, and to not jump to one's own biased, ill-informed conclusions. A lot. I've kinda avoided this album for a few years (the production used to put me off, and I'd usually listen to only one or two songs (usually Leather and Mother) before switching to something else, and get the rest of my LE fix from bootlegs). Anyhoo, listening to it again from end to end (sans China -- have to draw the line somewhere) really made me see it in a whole new light (or rediscover it in the old light of 1994 when I used to think it was the greatest thing ever). And yeah, here's where I recant, plead mea maxima culpa and say that LE *is* better than SLG after all. Okay. Happy everyone?? I was wrong and you were all right. But FTCH and BFP are still in no danger of being replaced as my faves. Okay, had to tell someone. Shutting up now. Okay, I'm confused. First, Sanity lists an Aussie ASF single as due Friday 11 October 2002, and at the almost unbelievably low price of $4.35. Second, ChaosMusic lists an Aussie ASF single as due Friday 11 October 2002, at the still very low but slightly more believable price of $5.95. Third, CDNow and Amazon list ASF import singles identified as being from Australia. Meanwhile, SirenDisc lists an ASF import singe identified as being from Australia and due out 14 October 2002. (So far, looks like a pretty sure thing that we'll be getting an ASF single on or by 14 October 2002, right?) But, then: Fourth, HMV have yet to list an ASF single, even though their coming soon single list extends to 28 October 2002. Fifth, Sony Music Australia has solicitations up to 21 October 2002 on their website, and no sign of Tori. Finally, CDNow and Amazon have moved the release date for the ASF import single forward to 24 September 2002 and have removed indication as to the source country. (This is the part where I get confused.) So, other than the fact that: (a) Sony Music Australia are idiots (their one news item about Tori was just culled from toriamos.com and was several weeks after the info had been posted on Tori's site); (b) HMV's advance solicitations looky a little on the patchy side; and (c) CDNow and Amazon are at the mercy of Sony Music Australia (see (a)); should we be worried? In the past when (particularly) Amazon has started moving dates around like this, it usually means that the item has been canned, or put on indefinite hiatus. Um, the Complete Videos DVD anyone? Has the ASF single been lost in the open road already? Anyone with any insider connections/goss? Jules killing time for a little while longer Yahoo!
