I think Cooling would work for two reasons: (1) The album is, elementally, about fire. The name Pele is a reference to a volcano. The idea that the fire has finally gone out, that the volcano is 'cooling', fits very well with the symbolism of the journey. She is finally letting go of the anger (that starts in Blood Roses and climaxes in Little Amsterdam) and accepting what comes after. (2) Cooling is also reflectively calm ... Tori is accepting the idea that the other person has moved on. Sure there is regret, but as she sings the final "this is cooling" over and over, there's a kind of acceptance -- and through that, emotional growth and strength -- not unlike Twinkle. In effect, the moral centre of Cooling and Twinkle are similar. I just think that Cooling gets there more beautifully (it's a *musically* more interesting song, IMHO) and more effectively (Twinkle is sweet, but not enough, to borrow Tori's phrase). And besides, Tori said that Cooling was written to close Pele, so there. ;-P Jules - --------------------------------- Yahoo! After all, they're pretty easy to spot and delete (they display the person's email handle rather than display name), and they're not being sent so frequently (yet) as to cause too much disruption. But is the virus definitely coming from AndrewR's end? In addition to the emails to this list supposedly from AndrewR's account, at least one email has been sent to this list supposedly from my account, and there have been a few that were supposedly from Roozi. Oh, and whoever invented the idea of computer/email/worm viruses needs a serious cockpunching. Oh, how I've missed that phrase.
